Women, throw away your bra

Damn, teya! You have a tiny ribcage. Don't get me wrong, but you must look even more ample because of that. I have a friend who has a tiny frame (size 00) but some boobs on her--I describe her a "Lucy Liu...but hot."

As for me, I went from skinny at age 11 to hourglass at age 12. At 14, I was 34B-24-34, with a big rigcage, thanks to Dad's barrel chest. In high school? You'd better wear a bra!

The Bali U-Shape ones are great. They aren't too expensive. I quit wearing the cheapy ones because of the stabbing of the underwire.. Even if they were washed gently.

I thought BS when I heard about the study's conclusion but I haven't read it. It occurred to me that it may be true for small breasts but most women would never run without a sport bra. I don’t know how any athletic woman can believe it.

This small-breasted woman ran very comfortably w/o a bra. In fact, I rarely wore one at all until I was 40+ and had gained and then lost weight.

My boobs never got past the small and perky stage, so I almost never wear a bra. :P

Wow. That's rather big. Here you'd probably qualify for a breast reduction for medical reasons. Have an old classmate who did one a few years ago and have been very please with the result.

same here. Turning 49 and still bra-less (unless I intend to seduce someone. Unpacking is half of the fun of receiving a present :D )
I used to do athletics when I was younger and never had a prob with running or jumping. The tissue really gets stronger and the pectoral muscle takles a lot of the weight, too.
I have never experienced any chafing at all.

As for the sagging with age, that's true but compared to other women my age it's significantly less even though I am very ample.

And as for the male participants of this thread: someone whos primary sexual attributes wouldn't even fill an AA cup for our secondary ones is not allowed to post here :nyah:

Edit: we'll make an exception for man boobs.

have these people never seen a national geographic?

the girls have always been good to me. I believe in supporting them as well.

Just kinda tiny all over... ;) Although taller than most of the women in my family. I love going home to visit. It's the one time I can feel willowy.

The girls used to look ample. Even 10 years ago, I'd get idiot comments like, "Nice! Are they real?" Well, I understand this is LA, but would I tell you if they weren't? :guffaw:

Now I'm well past menopause & they're just kinda there...

In HS, I was a hippie, so the only time I wore a bra was when running or in gymnastics competitions where they'd actually take points off if you showed a hint of nipple thru the leotard...

I am heavier than I should be. A few pounds ago, I was a happy 36DD. So once I stop the stress eating and exercise more, I should be able to reduce without surgery.

I definitely agree with this. Even with a sports bra, it feels painful to run. Solution: don't run.

I wear a regular under my sports and I get lazy about running too but I'm going to follow this -I may need a 3rd force field

It's also embarassing when women are clearly NOT wearing bras and are.... well-endowed. I went to a college where we had compulsory chapel and I sat up in the balcony. When we had worship... I could quickly tell which girls were not... properly garbed.

If you stick a patch of thin sticking plaster / adhesive bandage or a wide sello tape over them they won't show =)

I always did sports without bra. Particularly running. I can't breathe when I'm strapped up like a sausage. Only lately I took to wearing a thin bustier when I run. But that's more for reasons of decency than for support: with a bustier I can leave the t-shirt away on hot days.
If you used to run with a bra, you will find running without one unpleasant, because your tissue isn't used to the strain. However, if you always ran without one, the muscles and the connecting tissue get stronger and you can run without artificial support, even if you're big.
Originally, I considered wearing a bra for sports but it's easier to meet an alien than finding a sports bra in a D+ size.

I like Lululemon's ta ta tamer but it would be nice if they expanded their range of sizes, definitely. For the most part I wear cheapo ones and double up.

I can't believe someone produced a bra called ta ta tamer. That's just so fucked up it's borderline genius.

Also men commenting on this thread that women should have breast reductions because they don't like the idea of big boobs should go off to a penis thread and suggest surgical alteration to their taste.

I've always had big jugs so not wearing a bra was never an option. Everyone starts off in good shape but the race to the waist is not a level playing field, so to speak. I'm skeptical about the findings of this research.
