Wolverine 2 Greenlit

Hopefully the second film will be set in Japan like they said, and thus will be a more coherent and meaningful story. I don't see them tossing in 20 cameos in Japan. ;) Of course, I don't know how exciting a literal adaptation of the Miller/Claramont mini would be. I haven't read it in a long time but who does he fight in it? Some ninjas and Mariko's daddy? Is the Silver Samurai in it?

Great.
When I read it made $85m on its 3day OW I knew a sequel was forthcoming.
Personally I liked the movie as well. I got the Asian/Japan/Madripoor ending post credits as well. Glad to cause I've heard about the other Weapon XI ending and would just rather that dissapear entirely.

Knowing the way they are playing fast and loose with mutants I wouldn't be surprised if Sunfire shows up.

Wolverine in Asian territories! Yes!

^To be fair, Hugh Jackman would not be short of work if Fox decided never to make another X-Men movie.

I would rather see a follow-up to Part 3 and find out ...

... how Professor X is still alive.

I'm glad there's a sequel, but frightful that because of Wolverine's success, they don't realize how bad it is.

Hopefully they count their blessings, and move on to make something better. Miller and Claremont's Japanese story is amazing, I hope they get good screenwriters and a good director who knows the story and the character and don't fuck it up. Hell, why not get Miller and Claremont to write the screenplay?

Here's hoping for a proper 'Pool movie. I honestly didn't have a problem with how he was portrayed in the beginning and the end can be easily reworked into a good 'Pool.

Ryan Reynolds said that he had in his contract the possibility for returning for his own series of films. I think he mentioned it in the TVGuide interview during the premiere of the film but I'm not sure. I recall him saying it though.

The Dark Wolverine...........

Goes on to make a bajillion dollars....................followed closely by "Star Trek XII: The search for Khan's latinum"

^^^^^^
I have to wonder, where did all that money go? Most of the film looked okay, but some of that CGI -- ouch!

Anyway, I'm glad to hear there'll be another one. This current movie was decidedly average, but I'm optimistic that, with the right creative team, they'll be able to deliver a kick-ass Wolverine film.

Well, if you watch earlier in the movie, he suggests his method for continuing to live while teaching class. Watch again, he asks his about the moral implications of transferring someone's (like his) into a living vegetable person. According to what I heard about the comics, this person in the bed is his twin brother, but while Prof. X got all the brains, his brother was left with essentially an empty shell.

Let's hope the sequel gets a script by someone who can actually write this time.
