Would the Borg have crushed the fleet at Wolf w/out Picard's thoughts/memories?

I'd think they would have been even more motivated to do so. You know, this whole "we learn things solely through assimilation" thing. They'd deliberately seek battle to find out what they were up against.

But whether they would have been so successful... Depends on what Starfleet had come up with since "Q Who?". In that episode, both phasers and photon torpedoes proved completely ineffective, and it didn't seem as if the heroes had anything better by the time of "BoBW", either.

It's possible, IMO, if the Federation fleet used remodulating weapons (Shelby's idea) and concentrated fire, they could have had a chance in defeating the cube. Of course they'd have to destroy som 73%+ of it to get it disabled. And probably suffer heavy losses in the process.

The Borg assimilated Picard because he would become their trump card, the flagship captain and thus the one with the most knowledge. His efforts were invaluable in the battle of Wolf 359.

The fleet wouldn't of been needed. Becuase if the Picard didn't get assimilated they would've stopped the Borg right then and there with the Deflector Beam of p0wning'

Exactly - the Heavy Graviton Lance would have destroyed the Borg ship.

I think though that without Picards Memories it would have been somewhat even, but the Borg had adaptation so it's possible they would have found ways to circumvent the remodulated phasers.

I think the Borg would still win
