Wolf 359 VS Dominion Battle

You know, I haven't watched a lot of Voyager since it went off the air, but I don't remember their treatment of the Borg being all that bad. The parts that I remember, I pretty much liked.

You could actually say that that despite obvious advancements made in fighting the Borg, that Voyager made the Borg more formidable than ever....I mean tactical cubes, diamond ships, a huge space station complex (unimatrix zero), and after the defeat of Species 8472, nothing could really stand against the Borg in the long run.

I know it was on short order, but only 40 ships made it to Wolf 359 in time to do battle with the Borg Cube that Picard/Locutus was on. Yet, in Sacrafice of Angels, 600 or more ships are there...is it because they built up more ships after 359?

And another thing..where are all the other Federation ship? I assume Starfleet vessels are,well, made with Earth designs. If there are all these civilizations in the Federation, then why don't we see any Vulcan or other ships as part of that Dominion Armada..

But back to Wolf 359. Picard used the old 'transponder' trick, but on all the ships at one time? Not one of those ships could get a shot in or ram it? Seems like STARFLEET tactical classes did not train them enough while they were in the Academy..

The real story is, that DS9 producers realized they needed a lot more starships to make an epic war story. ST never had shown a lot of starships at one time. Fleets of 20-40 in BOBW and Redemption II were the biggest. We can assume for the ST universe, that these large numbers of ships were never seen because well...space is huge! Plus they were never needed in such numbers before. It makes sense that when they say there's only one ship in a sector that that's really all there is.
