Wishlist of SF/Fantasy series not yet being developed as TV/movies?

The Pliocene Exile and Uplift would be at the top of my list.

The Pliocene Exile would be relatively easy I think to do as a modern-day live-action show. I think the sheer number of weird aliens in the Uplift universe would pretty much require the show to be animated - even in this day and age.

CGI for many to be sure.

So many good mentions.
Nice work people and nice to see that people who read books still exist!
I may do a poll "Books VS Tablets" what do you read with\on?

All the works of Heinlein would be nice. Huge fan.
Even though I watch "Starship Troopers" as a guilty pleasure (the scene at the fort alone is worth the ticket price), it's a mess of a movie and barely touches on the actual story.
But yet I still watch it and yell snarky quips at the TV like a member of the Satellite of Love.

Phules Company! loved the first couple of books. Would make a great cartoon.

William Gibson's stories would be nice for a "Matrix-y" type anthology series

Piers Anthony Zanth novels.
I've always thought they would be great as "Ralph Bakshi Wizards" type animation.

For years I have wanted a movie version of The Mote im God's Eye and Footfall, but considering my personal dislike of Niven and Pournelle, I'm cool with them never getting made.

But I'm still hoping for a movie version of John Varley's Titan Trilogy. Wouldn't mind a Honor Harrington book getting made either.

It's been done before, but we're overdue for a big new movie version of The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham.

I feel I've had/seen enough Triffids remakes. I'd love to see a bold, brave 'Plan For Chaos' adaptation with Helen Mirren. Even Chrysalids (which might happen).

Any of Brandon Sanderson's writings would make for excellent television, especially his 'primary' "Cosmere" series Mistborn and The Stormlight Archives.

Same thing goes for the writings of Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, although the Death Gate Cycle and their Dragonships of Vindras series are foremost on my 'wish-list'.

Now is the perfect time for some Chronicles of Prydain adaptations: with at least one CG character at just about all times, and lots of sweeping location shooting, they'd be too expensive for traditional cable, but too small-scale to compete as blockbuster movies. As a straight-to-streaming series, however, each book could be adapted on its own terms, with the pace and rhythm entirely dictated by the story, rather than a set episode length or two-hour movie.

Count me in also for The Saga Of The Pliocene Exiles series (by Julian May)! :)

For years, I’ve wanted those books to be realised - either on the big or small screen!

I couldn’t put those books down after I discovered them.

I'd really like to see John Birmingham's WW2 series Axis of Time turned into a series (About a 2020's battlegroup which is transported suddenly into the Battle of Midway in WW2 and a very different timeline emerges)

RM Stirling's Emberverse as well. NBC kind of borrowed the concept for Revolution where electricity was prevented... but the Emberverse had been around for years before that and it went further with Gasoline, Gundpowder, etc... all no longer functioning so the US and other countries had kingdom's emerge with old technologies and swords and bows the main weapons.

Not sure about the Pern novels as a series, but I'd give it a chance. My choices ?

Kim Stanley Robinson's Red Mars etc.
Larry Niven's Ringworld
Alasdair Reynolds Revelation Space
Harry Harrison's The Stainless Steel Rat
