WIP Starship Atlantis

I'm a 2-D artist/hack when my regular computer is working.

The Atlantis is what I was working on before my computer fried. (I've got a copy a little farther along than this version, but it's not converted to jpeg for easy viewing yet.)

So, before I go too far with it, I thought I'd solicit input.
Starship Atlantis

I honestly have NO idea.

But, I was inspired to get back to work on ST artwork by Probert & his 3-D Ambassador, so I'd have to say it is Ambassador-era, at least.

Very interesting design indeed, erifah.

Now aside from the nacelles, it appears to be a contemporary of the refit Constitution/Miranda/Excelsior to me.

But, after all, it is your design.

I've always wanted to see more ships of that era, which is why I'm fond of the Centaur.

i usually don't like side view cut/paste/alter fan designs, but that one is really good. i like it

Maybe you like it because, although it IS a side view, it ISN'T a cut/paste/alter design! :)

(I always take the sincere "wow, this is a really good cut & paste" comments as the highest compliment, because it seems to mean that the drawing technique is good enough that the end result is confused with stuff the official professionals do! )

Great design! I'd buy the model kit. I agree with Frodo. The design elements seem to be from different eras. To my eyes, it looks like the Excelsior's saucer, Ambassador's secondary hull and the Sovereign's nacelles. I guess that makes it a timeless design!

Nice work! Looks to me like an almost-Ambassador testbed. I would take the cut and paste as a compliment too.

:rommie:

Nice! Now that is a good-looking ship. Seems like a really good candidate for 3D form. :)

Thanks! I would be honored if a 3D artist thought it was good enough to actually go ahead and do it. (Consider this permission granted in advance.)
