"Wink of an Eye." Wow. And I thought "Alternative Factor" had issues!

I like this episode. The whole concept of "accelerated" time was a lot for me to wrap my brain around when I first watched it as a kid, and even though the episode itself wasn't totally consistent with its use of the idea, the idea itself was interesting to think about.

The meme of this episode has spread to other sci-fi/fantasy shows, BTW.

The 'cure' obviously worked on Kirk and Spock, so why didn't they just feed it to the five Scalosians and call it solved?

Oh, and Kathie Browne was major   but we all knew that anyway. :D

What would happen if you just sat still for a few hours? Wouldn't people be able to see you then?
I also thought that Kirk could've just written a warning for Spock on a piece of paper.

The paper would have to remain in an easily visible location for hours if not days, though. One of the Scalosians would probably pick it up long before Spock could see it. Or if Kirk wrote it on something that he then turned upside down in the hopes that it wouldn't be casually spotted, the Scalosians would at least notice when Spock picks it up and then would take it from his hand, substitute an innocent piece of paper, and go spank Kirk.

Similarly, they'd be likely to guard against anybody staying still for too long in locations visited by the Enterprise crew.

I guess there's also that air resistance thing, I mean the pen and paper would explode because you'd be moving them damn near the speed of light!

Well, once you got the air out of the way, it would stay out of the way...

However, somehow these folks were able to breathe. And eat and drink, for that matter. This should be a big problem if all that were quickened was their metabolism. We almost have to assume some sort of a "quickening field" effect around them, meaning that the air next to them would also be subject to it... Not yet completely solving the breathing problem, but basically negating most of the others.
