i want to see what programs start running on start up on my pc and turn off the ones i dont need running straight away like msn but i cant remember where to do it.
I know xp had something to do with right clicking start menu or something but i cant find where to do it on w7

Hi Judge Alba

Go to Start Menu -> 'Search programs and file' option -> type msconfig and you will see a list of startup services you can disable.

Also, if you press the combination Shift-Ctrl-Esc at the same time, this will bring up the Task Manager which can be used to disable currently running tasks.

Hope this helps :)

You can get to the task manager by right clicking the task bar, and clicking "Start Task Manager" just remember a lot of the running programs will be listed in the processes tab, and there will be quite a few of them even on a bone stock install. Make sure you find out what the process actually is before you kill it, a lot of the system one have kinda nonsensical names.
