William Shatner wants to return as Jim Kirk in Abram’s Universe...

One should start a poll: would you like to be in a Star Trek film?

And all who vote yes get insulted because they are full of themselves, have a bloated ego, have no dignity, and are way too fat to appear in a film.

That kind of sums it up.

It would, if anyone who participated and voted yes had anything close to Shatner's fame and history in Trek.

I think this was a jab at everyone calling him that, wasn't it? I may have misunderstood.

It was but it wasn't a really relevant or fair jab.
All those rude things directed towards Shatner are directly linked to his history with the particular subject, his history in Trek and his history in the public spotlight in general.
Things that don't apply to random fans of Trek on the internet when faced with a similar question.

Well I think that you can understand both sides. You're right to mislike it. I thought it was kind of fitting, but of course, if you think about it, you cannot lump everyone who criticises Shatner together in one sorry category. There was no insult intended from my part.

I loved it when this story came out five years ago... and then we got Nimoy who was a much better cameo!!
Cameo? Nimoy had a good sized part.

Then Shatner and Pine can fight at the end, and it will end with "I... have had... enough of YOOOUUUU!!!" as Shatner kicks Pine into a lava pit.
Or Shatner stands part way up a slope as Chris Pine's skin catches fire.

Shatner: "YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE CHOSEN ONE !!!"

:)

I blame Khan for all this. KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!

Except for the part about being too fat. :p ;)

This star trek movie it is to late for him to be in it. But I don't see no reason why he can't be in Star Trek 13. He can play Captain James Kirk grandfather Tiberius Kirk. He's about the right age anyway.

I think the Tholians could get Shatner's Mirror Kirk to JJ Abrams universe. In the reimagined Mirror Universe, no one inspires Spock to become Emperor, so Kirk lives to a ripe old age, and gets into a battle with the Tholians, and like the USS Defiant, he gets sent over to the Abrams Trek Universe.

Back in 2004, William Shatner pitched a Mirror Kirk story to the producers of Star Trek: Enterprise to celebrate Trek's 700th episode (which eventually became the totally different "In a Mirror, Darkly" two-parter)

According to Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens , the episode idea Shatner had pitched would have featured him as "Tiberius", the mirror universe James T. Kirk last seen in " Mirror, Mirror ". Supposedly killed by mirror- Spock in his rise to power, it would have been revealed that the Tantalus field did not disintegrate, but in fact relocated its victims to a penal colony in the prime universe. If this story were to have been filmed, the Enterprise NX-01 would have encountered Tiberius in the 22nd century, who had been deposited there forty years earlier. In an attempt to return to the mirror universe, using the transporter of the Enterprise, Archer and Tiberius end up creating the mirror universe in the first place, as a diverging timeline.

That sounds pretty good to me.
