Will Voyager ever make it to Blu-Ray or HD?

They MIGHT skip DS9 and go straight to VGR as it was more popular

Huh?

I'm not so sure VOY was "more popular" than DS9. Ratings say otherwise. DS9 was first-run syndication - like TNG but less audience - but VOY and ENT were UPN shows, a fledgling TV network that struggled for viewer acceptance. UPN wasn't even received in some parts of USA. UPN's viewer numbers rarely reached the needed heights.

...assuming Blu-Ray does not itself get modified to support it, a new format will have a very hard sell on it's hands.

As it is Blu Ray remains quite small as formats go. Given the sheer cost to Sony of winning their format war they are probably pretty disappointed.

Last prediction I heard is that eventually no one will be buying physical media to take home and store on shelves. It'll all be "in the cloud", downloadable as pay-per-view, floating in the ether, waiting for you to tap into with your reception device.

Maybe but that's a way off yet. You need to have superfast broadband availble for everyone to make it work. But why would I want to say pay £3 to view something once, when I can buy a physical copy of it say at £20 and watch it dozens/hundreds etc.. of times.?

Storage.

I now have almost 1000 DVDs, most bought at full price, and have probably only watched a third of them once (some already viewed in a cinema), and only 100 or so more that once, or multiple times. The rest just pile up behind the couch, on shelves and in storage boxes.

And now I've also run out of room.

I have never paid full price for a DVD or Blu-ray, and I have several hundred of them. Most have been watched at least once and a fair few of them watched more than once.

I'll happily wait 3 or so months for it to come down in price.

Therin.

I can see a point where you pay your gandkids a few quatloos to back up your DVDs onto a hard drive or a cloud drive because you begin to suspect that your precious are reaching the end of their life expectancy covered in scratches and finger prints.

My mothers boyfriend, who's not much older than me, was telling me that he had the most awesome collection of music on a few hundred cassette tapes and that a con man had convinced him that for just 5 hundred dollars, all that media can be converted to dvd.

Irreplaceable home movies of old weddings sure, but Rolling Stones singles you recorded off a transistor radio in 1982?

Pull the other one.

I finally threw a lot of crap away that was mouldering in boxes including the cassettes my mother had carefully taped off the radio of Pete Seeger interviews in the 70's and then mailed to me years later and then spent a decade nagging me to listen to. Which I never did.

That virgin stuff must have made Joseph feel like shit.

"WE"VE DONE IT! Done it all night loooong... I hadn't had sex with Mary when she was a virgin but then we got married and i shagged her and SHE ISN'T A VIRGIN!!!"

As I understand it Catholic theology says the "brother" wasn't an actual brother but a "brother in christ". And even after the birth Mary's body was unchanged, as though no baby had passed through her vagina. And Joseph and Mary never had sex. However all that may be false gleanings of Catholic lore on my part having not been raised one. My mother converted when I was an adult and made great drama of how her children had "turned away from the Church", the church which we had never so much as set foot in LOL.

She should have said, "They didn't join me in the Church." Her saying what she said is disinformation! That's terrible.

I know the feeling about people saying things that aren't trye. I have a grandmother that used to tell people a story that my aunt's teeth fell out, among other ridiculous tales. Two of her teeth got knocked loose once, and grammy made a big deal and told people all her teeth fell out.
