Will UK banks accept cashiers checks drawn on US banks?

Will UK banks accept cashiers checks drawn on US banks? I'm trying to figure out how to pay for an auction overseas, and want to avoid using a personal check--any help would be appreciated!

I'm pretty certain they do - but they charge a fee for handling it.

Though interestingly enough they do have Bank of America over there.
