Will they ever reveal anything else about Snake Eyes?

Thespeckledkiwi

Vice Admiral
There was a declassified book published a few years ago on GI Joe but basically any information on him is nil. Apparently his first name possibly starts with an N and his last name possibly starts with a J but other than that nothing. Not even what he sounds like.

But I think there is much more behind him than what the declassified book has published, including his family.

Do you think that they would ever delve deep into his background?

no, because that's part of why he's so popular and works: he never speaks and we don't know his background and he's a badass ninja.

*this*

It's really fun to speculate about the history of fictional characters, but once you delve into it you can really torpedo some of the mystique about the character.

(Wolverine Origins comic I'm looking at you)

I thought I read a GI Joe comic a few years ago that had Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow when they were both young and in the Army? I don't remember it at all except for the young and in the Army thing and that they were friendly toward each other kind of....but they weren't bitter enemies.

Not sure how accurate any that info is, it is just something that has stuck in my head

In the comic continuity they were in the same LRRP unit in Vietnam. (along with Stalker and Wade Collins, who eventually became a Crimson Guard)

When he got home from Vietnam, Snake-Eyes' family was killed by a drunk driver. (who ended up being Cobra Commander's brother, IIRC)

He was taken in by Storm Shadow's (Tommy Arashikage) family who were the Arashikage ninja clan. That's where Snake-Eyes learned the ways of the ninja.

He didn't get rendered mute and get disfigured until he joined GI JOE. It happened saving Scarlett from a burning helicopter, IIRC.

There's a good deal of information out there about it. Not much is a mystery anymore, really, besides his real name. (and even that might be out there, somewhere)
