Will the Force Awakens age well

I think it depends on how the other films are. If it's a consistent trilogy, I think TFA will age really well. If not, it might struggle.

The latter is also called the Matrix Effect. :p

The difference is: The Matrix was fine as a standalone film, and probably wouldn't have hurt The Wachowskis if they did something different afterwards. TFA, on the other hand, is very much needed; audiences want more (namely me) and want answers and eventual closure for these characters.

I wonder if Family Guy will ever do the PT?
I'm sure they will.

I always thought the term "cult film" applied to oddball movies with a niche following, like Barbarella, Plan 9 from Outer Space, and Attack of the Giant Leeches. The Empire Strikes Back is too much of a mainstream blockbuster for that. The Star Wars Holiday Special would fit the "cult" category better than any of the theatrical Star Wars releases.

Kor

I feel the same.

I believe that book was created in the early or mid-90s and I haven't heard or read of any other source calling ESB a cult film.

I think the bridge scene will always shock to one degree or another. The rest of the movie is more standard but it should bear repeat viewing.
