IMO, she'll be introduced not via combat or orbit; rather we will see her as Kirk first sees her, perhaps conveying the idea of "love @ first sight."
In TMP, he saw her refit like a man seeing his long lost lover for the first time in many years. Here, we should see he viewing her as a man seeing the love of his life for the first time.
So, I would think they may replay the TMP introduction by way of allusion. I can see Kirk seeing it as it pulls into its berth in the spacedock complex or the way Picard saw the E-D for the first time in All Good Things. I don't expect the scene be nearly as long as TMP, but I do expect it to focus on Kirk, not the Enterprise, as he reacts to his first sight of his great love. If you ask me Carol Marcus, compared to the Enterprise, is the woman spurned. The Enterprise is the "other woman," the one who steals Kirk's heart from Carol Marcus, and for that reason it makes sense to play on the idea of "Love At First Sight."
