I think it's going to be close.
One possible problem is that I haven't seen much promotion that Christian Bale is in this movie. In those trailers you see more Terminators than shots of Bale. The guy's arguably the biggest action star in Hollywood now, but they aren't exactly playing up his involvement that I've seen. Of course the talk-show rounds haven't started yet to my knowledge.

Twenty-five years ain't bad!
When they showed the first trailer with TDK a bunch of teenagers sitting behind me said "Another one? that's lame." Though sentiments might have changed now. Take it as you will.
My friend said the same for Star Trek, but she came around and enjoyed it when we saw it last week. I think we should let the merits of T4 speak for itself.
Hmm, a couple of teenagers complaining about "another Terminator" movie isn't going to make a difference. That's like people complaining about "another Batman" movie, "another Superman" movie, etc.
I honestly think this one will do better than Star Trek, which I just watched last night. Good, but not super terrific.
I hope Star Trek out does Terminator.
My girlfried has never been a Star Trek fan, but she likes it now.

If Fox were delaying the decision in order to get the show more cheaply, then it may be terminated.
If it was a marketing ploy, which is more likely, then it is not. To have rumors of termination would mean there is news of it continuing, news that otherwise would not have been. These news would create interest in the movie as well.
^ It could be a marketing ploy, but I doubt it. Fox has no interest in the show and with their big film coming up this week against Salvation (Night at the Museum 2), they may have done this to hurt the film.
The only thing that has me even remotely curious is that the early proposed schedule has the Friday night at 8:00 timeslot empty.

How many people were "demanding" more Star Trek before the last film came out? Hard core fans at most and no one else.
I think the general public will always want more Terminator than they will Trek, even if Trek does well in and of itself in a particular release.
Star Trek just got knocked out of the #1 spot by Angels and Demons.After this weekend I'm going to say Star Trek.

Oh, did not know that. I will not watch either if there is no announcement of TSCC returning. (This is a promise that is easy to keep since I mostly watch scifi, and do not consider the T films that, unlike the series.)
I don't think it will. If it is good and gets good word of mouth it should do well. However, its going to be competing against Night at the Museum 2 and it might not even make #1. Star Trek opened pretty much without any competition, so T4 is going to start out of the gate in a tougher position. So far, Trek has had staying power. It remains to be seen if T4 will have that kind of staying power. Though I'm sure it will be a blockbuster.

There has already been some reviews of Salvation, the RT site percentage is not high for the movie.
