Will Ron Moore ever get a chance to create/run a new Trek series?

There is no reason to think Moore would just creat Galactia 2.0. I think he is creative enough that he would bring something new to any show he creates and maybe only take elements of Trek he feels is important and maybe a few things from Galactica he liked. Such as having older Actors as your main lead or religion being a important element. I think a attention to everyday details of life would also maybe be something from Galactia that carried over.

I think he hardly wants to go back to the restraints that the producers of Star Trek put upon their creative team, after the freedom he had on BSG. He did a magnificant job on, BSG, I hardly doubt that will ever have the free reign to handle the themes that seem relevant to him - military personal at war, religion, terror, interpersonal dynamics - in Trek. Also, and this is just a personal preference, but I really could do for a sci-fi without heavy religious overtones for a while.

I think it would depend on how much leverage he has going into making a new Trek show. How popular is Outlander? I mean he does have some nerd leverage that people like Joss Whedon and J.J Abrams has but he isn't on their level, clearly. As for the religion I can do with or without out but I have always wanted to see Trek deal with modern religions by showing how they evolved instead of simply went away. That makes sense to me because their will always be humans who need something like that to believe in. That doesn't mean you can't get ride of all the negative stuff that comes with many of them though in theory.

Eh, I believe Bryan Fuller, who was right at the height of it's career, had WAY more leverage during his creation of Discovery than Moore ever had or will have with Trek. And see how that turned out.

Maybe I'm just bummed out by the end of BSG (I haven't seen anything of Outlander), but I had the feeling that - while overall this show is one of the greatest sci-fi shows ever produced - at the very end the creators (Moore and his team) simply went out of stories to tell. Like, everything they ever wanted to say about religion, terror and starships...had already been told. By them. As such, I fear a new Trek series by Moore would equally aimlessly meander forward like the last 1 and a 1/2 seasons of BSG.

Now having him a guest writer, that would be fabulous! I think he still has some smaller stories, unused or new ideas he can tell, and he's a magnificent storyteller! I'd love to see a new Trekepisode writtern by Moore. Just not him deciding the direction of a Trek show again. I just don't see him creating something new out of the same stuff he already entirely innovated during his whole previous career. Think of it as the late-Geroge-Lucas-problem.

BSG was originally just supposed to be a mini-series. Moore could conceivably be given free reign over a Star Trek mini-series for one of CBS's platforms, and it probably won't conflict with Outlander (isn't that show ending soon?).

I'm not sure how he feels about the new Klingons, since he was the guy who pretty much invented Klingon culture on TNG and DS9.

Not quite. That's what Ron Moore was originally contracted for, but there was always an option of continuing if it did good ratings, and he approached the BSG mini as though it were a pilot and would be continued.
