Will Ron Moore ever get a chance to create/run a new Trek series?

I think he would have been the most clear choice when it came to making "Enterprise" instead of Braga even if in reality it was time to get ride of Berman and the old guard. Still I think he would really be able to make a interesting show because he was a fan of "TOS" and has experience of working on all the 24th century shows, has experience running a sci-fi show in "BSG" and that show also proves that is someone who might be a fan but also would be willing to push the envelope with a new show. I think he would be a good place to go for the next project after that Nick Meyer thing that mostly likely will be a Khan mini-series. Well him or Fuller.

Honestly, at this point I doubt he's even interested in doing Star Trek again at all. Star Trek is in the past for him, he's moved on and done his own shows now, and in all honesty that's probably a better move for him, giving him more freedom to expand on his own ideas.

I, personally, also think it best for the franchise too. As good as he is at what he does (including his writing Start Trek), giving him carte blanche over Trek would be a bad idea. Without reining in at times, I think he would have taken it too far from what we know and love for my liking at least.

Battlestar Galactica was Ronald D. Moore's Star Trek.. I think a lot of what he wished to do on Star Trek was realised in BSG. Ron Moore spent 11 years working on Star Trek and I don't think he left under the best circumstances, so it's probably safe to say he's not interested. I'd be open to having him as a writer or consultant for Discovery though.

I think he was famous for doing the Klingon episodes on TNG but I think he was known more for than just that one trait. He was a very well rounded writer IMO and wasn't limited as only writing one particular niche.

Interestingly, Ronald Moore is currently doing the Outlander TV series, for Netflix - and it’s surprisingly good! Personally-speaking, i wasn’t drawn to the series (on paper) buuuuut have been proved absolutely wrong!

Outlander won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but it’s got me intrigued, especially the time travel / mid-twentieth century / 18th century highland Scotland premise.

I think he would have taken it too far from what we know and love for my liking at least.

I don't really think he took DS9 that far away from TNG, except by starting a big war with the Cardassians and the Dominion. The continuity between TNG and DS9 is the strongest of any of the series. VOY nullified any continuity it may have had due to the constant weekly reboots; and the way they changed the Borg was a bigger departure from TNG than were Moore's Klingons.

I'm not sure where Moore would fit in current Trek, however. I think he would have to play second fiddle to someone involved with the other series, and he may not like that.

From what I understand BSG was pretty anti-Trek so I don't see why executives would think That's who gonna make it great and the fans will love.

Moore has done some good work (and also had some significant misses) but too often he tries to elevate his work by putting down that of others so I'm not a big fan of him personally.

They could use some more nuance than they've gotten in past shows, but Discovery isn't really giving them that either. So ... I'd have to say no, we don't really need more about the Klingons.

There is no reason to think Moore would just creat Galactia 2.0. I think he is creative enough that he would bring something new to any show he creates and maybe only take elements of Trek he feels is important and maybe a few things from Galactica he liked. Such as having older Actors as your main lead or religion being a important element. I think a attention to everyday details of life would also maybe be something from Galactia that carried over.

That was the best thing about his BSG. He did not care if the fans liked it........he took a campy late 70s TV show and rip off of Star Wars and turned it into one of the most critically acclaimed shows of 2003. I like RDM and I started Outlander just because of him last year and now I am hooked on that as well.
