It must be taken into account that Quinto was already fairly well-known prior to Star Trek. And I think he's already made it abundantly clear that he's not going to play Spock forever. Honestly, I would be surprised if he continues the role past this next film. Both he and Pine are getting plenty of non-Trek offers these days, so their exit from Trek is probably already in the cards.
