There has been a Facebook campaign to get Rage Against The Machine's "Killing In The Name" to be the Christmas #1, presumably as a protest against the X-Factor single getting it for the 5th year in a row.

I think it would be hilarious if the Facebook campaign wins and the song does get the #1 slot, something of an amusing footnote in an industry which in its current state - and indeed in the past - allows such anomalies to happen (see "Mr. Blobby"
). I must admit, however, that I prefer the Miley Cyrus version of the X-Factor single performed by... who was that guy again?
Anyway, it's been a close battle, punctuated by some amusing anecdotes of some pre-watershed radio broadcastings of the RATM song, but it looks like the X-Factor winner person might edge it.
Personally, I prefer this version.
