Oh yes, but at the risk of splitting hairs, there's a meaningful point in referring back to his opinion: that the values encoded in the series which resulted from his attitude-secularity, a cautionary attitude about relying on superstition over individual thought, a focus on the value of science (or at least fake-ass Trek science), and the idea that people claiming to be God or to know exactly what God wants should be regarded with suspicion, even if they have superhuman powers that seem to back them up-should continue to be a part of Trek.
