Will Hindu, Christian or Scientology feature in this Trek movie ?

Heh heh. Seems rather misanthropic for a secular humanist. :p

Roddenberry, while he had a great vision, was a complete disaster.

Oh yes, but at the risk of splitting hairs, there's a meaningful point in referring back to his opinion: that the values encoded in the series which resulted from his attitude-secularity, a cautionary attitude about relying on superstition over individual thought, a focus on the value of science (or at least fake-ass Trek science), and the idea that people claiming to be God or to know exactly what God wants should be regarded with suspicion, even if they have superhuman powers that seem to back them up-should continue to be a part of Trek.

Woman: You try to raise your kids as secular humanists, but these showbiz types keep shoving religion down our throats!
Boy: Mommy, why wasn't I baptized?
Woman: You see? You see!?

I wonder what made him an EX Scientologist!
I'm still not convinced that he ever was one.

All I find is that Tom Cruise tried several times to enlist Abrams (or recruit or whatever the correct term might be) while M:I:III was in production, and that Abrams declined each time. If there's any credible support for more than that, I haven't seen it.

Not sure what difference it makes, one way or the other -- I'm just saying the claims that Abrams is or was a Scientologist look to me to be somewhat vaporous.
