Will any TNG era Characters appear in the movie? (spoilers?)

***Possible Spoilers below if any of the Rumors from Today are true***

With the new rumors about the plot of the movie and time travel being involved I think there is a very real chance that a character or two from 24th century Trek (TNG, DS9, Voyager) could appear in this movie. Maybe if there is a big battle scene at the start of the movie with the Romulans trying to get to the Guardian of forever we could see the Titan for the first time on screen? Or maybe even the Ent-E herself?

Maybe Spock will be on board the Titan for a diplomatic mission to Romulas after the events of Nemesis. Then Riker gets a message about the attack on the Guardian of forever and the Titan with spock aboard races to the scene. After arriving Spock beams down while the Titan battles to try and reason with the Romulans and he ends up having no choice but to go back in time to save the timeline.

Do you think anything like this would be possible? Or would we have heard something by now about casting familiar names from past shows in the new movie?

Doubtful. I think we'd have probably heard by now.

I also think such a move would be ill-advised. Best to focus the movie on the original cast.

Would be FANTASTIC to have but unfortunatly i'd have to say no, the main cast has already been announced and none are cast as TNG era characters... :(

If you want to be technical, recent rumours imply that Eric Bana's character, Nero, is a Romulan from the 24th century.

Does that count? He's of the 'era', after all...

Well so is Spock I suppose :) But I mean any of the series regulars from the 24th century shows.

I sincerely doubt we'll be seeing any cameos. Sure, I'd like to have Spock reminisce with Picard about his late father, but this film is all about moving forward and I think Leonard Nimoy's the one concession to the past we're getting.

Maybe there will be a quick cameo of least then. It just seems like a shame to be in the 24th Century for probably the last time in Trek and not have a quick cameo of least by a familiar face.

Did we know about the cameos from other Trek films this early in their production? The Doctor in First Contact, Quark in Insurrection (left on the cutting room floor) and Janeway in Nemesis. Considering the top secret nature of filming and a cast mostly remaining tight lipped, almost anything could be possible. It's unlikely to be major players from TNG admittedly. They'd be boasting on the con circuit by now... gagging order or not! Another reason Shatner's publicized moaning is likely to be genuine.

I hope not, but I won't exactly bolt if it happens. It would detract from the film for me. Would be an eye-rolling moment, and then onward.

Re: Will any TNG era Characters appear in the movie? (spoile

I'm betting the 24th Century will be implied more then explicit, one of those things likely to get more play in the novel then on the big screen.

Chances are it might not even look exactly like the 24th Century we left in NEM or even All Good Things...

If anyone from the modern Trek shows were involved with this movie Marina Sirtis would have told the whole world by now.

I don't think it's necessary to have Cameos, they just have to show somehow that the future is a bad place w/o Kirk.

Who said it's Marina Sirtis? Maybe they got one of the tight-lipped ones. Like Carel Struycken.

Or shoehorned herself in there, more than likely.

Re: Will any TNG era Characters appear in the movie?

According to my sources the only TNG characters that appear in this movie are Guinan & DaiMon Bok.

Re: Will any TNG era Characters appear in the movie?

TNG Era characters to be in "Star Trek":

James T. Kirk (ST Generations, died in the 24th century)
Mr. Spock (TNG Unification parts 1-2, Ambassador in the 24th century)
Dr. McCoy (TNG Encounter at Farpoint, Starfleet Admiral in the 24th century)
Scotty (TNG Relics, Acting Captain USS Jenolan, Captain USS Goddard)
Mr. Sulu (VOY Tattoo, and Flashback, Captain USS Excelsior)
Sarek (TNG Unification part 1)

Re: Will any TNG era Characters appear in the movie?

I will sooo boycott this film if Q isn't in it. He is Star Trek!!

Re: Will any TNG era Characters appear in the movie?

I doubt we'll see anyone from the Berman era. This is all TOS, anything else thrown in would distract from the story they are trying to tell.
