Wild Wild West?

James Cawley recently posted a few pictures on his Facebook page of the railcar set in the works for a fall production of "The Wild Wild West". Facebook

Looked around, and didn't see a thread about this. Anyone know anything about this project? I know he's mentioned this project in the past, but I'd heard it'd been abandoned. And now, out of the blue apparently, photos of the progress on the sets. No other info about it on his Facebook page, and couldn't find anything on the "Phase II" page either.

James or, Heck, anybody in-the-know, an update would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, Retro Film Studios and Cawley Entertainment Company continue to plug along on three fronts:

* Our ongoing Star Trek Phase II fan production

* Our Wild Wild West fan production

* Our Buck Rogers Begins fully-licensed professional production

We continue to try and balance these three projects and jump from one to the other as time and million other variables permit. James spent some time a weekend or two ago working on The Wanderer--James West's private railcar. (Look for it to be as anal-retentively accurate as our Enterprise bridge, of course.)

Got a "Wild Wild West" website yet?

No. All we have (or really can justify having at the moment) is James' Facebook page. Our Wild Wild West page would probably say nothing more than "Under Construction; Come Back Soon!"

I like what you guys are doing, and really stroked about the Buck Rogers project since you've managed to snag both Gill Gerard, and Erin Gray to co-star with the actor that played Peter Kirk on Phase II one question when is the launch date for Buck Rogers?,and of course looking forward to Wild Wild West when that is finished ,are all three projects webseries or direct to DVD?

Thanks

Buck Rogers

In the case of the fan productions (for which we have not secured any legal licensing to make), I wouldn't expect any DVDs. (We couldn't sell them; we'd have to give them away--and no one seems to want to manufacture thousands of DVDs with no opportunity to get reimbursed.) So they will be just web-based and downloadable. As for Buck Rogers, we haven't decided on a distribution method--whether to sell DVDs or sell subscriptions or downloads or access to a viewing website. But it won't be a freebie; that's what Phase II and Wild Wild West are for.

I must say, I'm more excited about this then I am about Phase II. With it's semi-humorous, almost cartoony tone, WW-West seems perfect for a fan series. Any shortcomings in production, acting, etc. will just make it more humorous. And, I agree that Cawley is pretty perfect for West (James Kirk, James West, is he gonna play James Bond next?), but please, please make sure you get a strong character actor for Artemus. Ross Martin was my favorite part of that show, and he set the bar pretty high. If you can get someone convincing for Artie, then I will be a fan.

Robert Conrad and James Cawley are friends. I was at James' house a couple years ago when he got a telephone call from Conrad. Perhaps James will tell you all how they met one day--its a great story . . .

Well well....might there be a Conrad cameo in James' version?
