WI Wesley killed during the 3rd season of TNG?

Very little would have changed. Wesley left during Season 4 anyway and he never had a big effect on the show afterwards. (Isn't this thread on the wrong forum?)

Well, there probably wouldn't have been a Tom Paris in Voyager.

That's about it as far as memorable consequences.

What would have been interesting is seeing how the crew, and especially Beverly would have reacted to it. It could have opened up a lot of possibilities to some really dynamic stroy telling. Also, it could have created a great Picard situation, if Wesley's death turned out to be similar to Jack Crusher's death, also under Picard's command.

what if wesley was murdered by councillor troi? they'd both be much more interesting characters

It's a shame TNG wasn't written by Joss Whedon. Include the "easily-identifiable" Wesley Crusher, establish him as a wunderkind in the first several episodes...then gack him without any warning.

Wesley almost *was* killed - in the alternate timeline of "Yesterday's Enterprise". I don't know if his death was ever filmed, but it was in the original script. (As was Data's.)

I never understood the level of hatred towards the character of W. Crusher.

Sure he was occasionally passed off as some wonderkid, but it was a lot more believable then Idiot-Genius Rom on DS9.... and there were some good episodes revolving around him (Crusher).... imo of course.

I agree. Although I think the character doesn't do a lot as far as progressing the show or being a catalyst for the storylines, I enjoy his character. He is 10x more likable than any teen character on tv or movies today, and his reactions are believable for a teen.

I always have arguments with ppl over this.

Um, no they're not, and THAT'S why we (those of us who were that same age at the time) didn't like him.

But I do agree with you that he was alot more likable than kid characters on TV today.

Adults too.
