Why was the date misprinted on one of the DVDs?

I have seen the deep space nine episode For the cause which was aired May 5th 1996.. but when I bought the DVDs the for the Cause episode date on the DVD had said it airs May 6th of 1996.. how can that be when I seen that episode in Jacksonville Florida Eastern standard Time at 7:00 p.m. at May 5th 1996? California Pacific standard Time is 4 hours earlier than Eastern standard Time.. and 7:00 p.m. in Jacksonville Florida it would be 3 or 4:00 p.m. in California.. elastic aired it twice.. but then if they aired it twice Wikipedia is wrong because it said that it was first broadcast on Monday May 6th 1996.. how can that be when it aired on a Sunday evening May the 5th 1996 on UPN 47 WNFT? Just saying out of curiosity if that if the date was a misprint on the DVD.. thanks guys and thanks for letting me join the group.. I'm a big deep space nine Trekkie.. and the episode for the cause what's the very first episode I've ever seen.. it was right after I moved out of my parents home.. they were very strict parents they can watch whatever they wanted to watch if it was a horror movie rated r movie science fiction but if I was in the science fiction I couldn't enjoy myself but they could.. you know but you hypocrites that live in one roof it's hard to deal with.. especially when you narcissistic parents to deal with.. it is what it is.

Memory Alpha also says For the Cause aired May 6.

We strive for perfection but typos creep in. If it's really important to you, cross-check with TV guide or newspaper listings from that week in 1996. Ask at a university library. If you establish that it's really May 5, submit it to Memory Alpha.

I've seen it May 5th of 1996.. I'm not crazy I know what I saw.. it was May 5th 1996 on a Sunday.. it was aired on Paramount television UPN 47 wnft.. it was a Sunday at 7:00 p.m. on a Paramount station but the station was independent.. I know what I saw.

I'm not saying you didn't see it May 5. Typos do creep in and then get copied from one source to another. But you should have evidence besides your memory in order to prove it. Could it have been preempted for something?

Don't know I just remembered it was a Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. deep space nine always there at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.. and it didn't air the next day because if it air the next day I would have my eyes would have been glued to the TV set.. it aired I believe if I'm not mistaken Sunday evening and possibly Saturday but I don't remember because I remember reruns after the fact.. but it was indeed on a Sunday evening an hour and 7 minutes before sunset. 7:00 p.m. that evening on Sunday after I come home from church every Sunday I would watch deep space nine at 7:00.

And then after the fact they had removed it from UPN 47 and then placed it on Fox television. Possibly Fox 30 before they removed all these independent TV stations into one station.

Don't know don't know why they would show it on UPN 47 in Jacksonville Florida on Sunday May 5th.. and then put it on DVD saying they aired it may 6 makes no sense to me cuz I know I've seen it Sunday evening May 5th.. and California is 4 hours earlier than Eastern standard Time in Jacksonville Florida.

I don't know.. but I got to see it earlier then Monday nanienanienana lol but yeah UPN 47 did air it somehow how they got their hands on it early I don't know I don't know why the episode would have been embargoed but all I know is that back in the mid-90s UPN 47 wnft was an independent station until early 2000 when all the channels such as channel 17 Wjks UPN 47 wnft and ABC.. all are now in a way one television station probably right along with wjxt channel 4. So I don't know.. some stations have pull some stations don't..shrugs.

It was a syndicated show, it did not have a fixed time slot. Your station airing it on May 5th does not make it the official or only correct date.

Sounds like you watched it on Sunday May 12th. BOOM!!

Very briefly, in 1994, I lived in a small television market, where TNG and DS9 were carried by one of the major network affiliates. Episodes aired after local news on Sunday night, but were never rebroadcast during the week. G-d-forbid there be a football game.
