Why they Should Have another Delta Quadrant Show

i think they should make another star trek show, based on the intentional exploration of the delta quadrant. i think it is also important that it would be made using techniques used in the older shows to keep it authentic to the 80's and 90's star trek shows. it could have a Vulcan raised by humans that follows a human culture, and a Cardassian perhaps? i think it would be a very diverse cast, set about 100 years after voyager. i also am making a Fan film on this concept, and have a few other ideas in mind. i would appreciate any suggestions about this idea, or any general discussion based on a new delta quadrant show. also, is star trek prodigy based in the delta quadrant? i think so, i just dont know.

ST Prodigy appears to be Delta Quadrant - at least since there were some Kazons on one of the promos for it. Afraid I'm a bit old school for that show - but I'm not the demographic the show runners are after. And if it brings a new generation to classic trek - cool.

To get to Delta Q, SF would have to circumnavigate the galactic core, which includes a massive black hole surrounded by swarms of marauding black holes. It's a really active, dangerous place. An alternative would be to use the wormhole into Gamma Q, but that requires circumnavigation of Dominion space (or violation of a peace treaty.) Either way, there's really no straight passage to the opposite side of the Milky Way, so getting there would be the first challenge. There is the defunct borg hyper route - but that was collapsed and there are still borg in the middle of it (although who knows in what condition without their queen.)

When you're thinking characters, an emancipated borg would be quite handy. And they come in klingon, kazon, talaxian and a dozen other flavors... An even more useful candidate would be not a crew member, but an ambassador from the 8472... You know... These guys:

A Vulcan raised by Betazoids or Deltans would be a more interesting spin on it, races where emotions are a far more central part of their being not to mention their far more hedonistic approach to sex and relationships definitely be a bigger culture shock and more startling contrast. Or you could go with one of the Cardassian orphans raised on Bajor, like Rugal, or anther Bajoran/Cardassian hybrid, Ziyal barely scratched the surface of what a character like that could go through.

I've always wondered about what it the Vaadwaur became a greater threat to the DQ, their underspace network would give them a considerable tactical advantage over most other races, definitely the sort of thing to become a more prominent threat with the Borg crippled by Admiral Janeway's neurolytic pathogen. I could see a mini-Federation coming together (some of the races that encountered Voyager being inspired by them) in order to fight back. One of them could have sent a ship through underspace to get to the AQ and seek help.

Voyager wasn't my favorite Trek, but they had a lot of good antagonists. Two that I haven't seen mentioned thus far that it would be nice to see again are the Voth and the Swarm. There's a lot of room there to play around with both of those species, especially the Swarm.
