Nash doesn't make players around him better overall, he makes players around him better shooters. That is what assist specialists (which is what Nash is), do. This was made easier for Steve because he was always surrounded by great scorers. This is the reason Nash has always played on high scoring teams that ultimately lost in the playoffs.
What Nash cannot do is make his teammates "better" enough that they become winners in the playoffs, something that multiple MVP winners before Nash always did.
Nash has 2 MVP trophy's, THAT is overrated.How is Nash more overrated than Barkley? Certainly it's difficult to compare the 2 players. As you've said, Barkley's career is all about upping his own personal stats. Meanwhile, Nash has to be one of the most unselfish point guards in the league today. His greatness lies in being able to make everyone around him look better.But on the other hand, that does put him a notch above Steve Nash who is even more overrated than Charles.
