Why no Vietman War shooters?

Naw. Vietnam was the new WW2 for a while and they glorified all the Vietnam War movie stereotypes. It's just that a lot of them sucked.

Anyway, if cultural taboo is a problem... then I don't see how Modern Warfare would have been green lit. I mean, they took the coward's way out by saying "middle eastern country" but either way, it's still a war against a very specific type of enemy in a specific region of the world.
(And Russians... because they're evil no matter what!)

Didn't some country's leader get his panties in a bunch over GRAW2?

Maybe the next shooter game will have to be about special ops in Canada.

Or in Utah against Mormon extremists.

Wasn't there a controversy a few years ago where there was a Vietnam War era console game where an American soldier stabs, mutilates, and kills a Vietnamese local prostitute and the protests from real life Vietnam War veterans in regards to that game's content?

That sounds like an extract from Jack Thompson's dream journal.

I liked Battlefield Vietnam. It wasn't as good as 1942, but it was different enough to be worth playing. The jets were probably too hard to fly in the game, but I had lots of fun with the mortars.

um, Korea was a win for the UN/Allied forces. they thwarted the commie North's invasion of the South.

okay, granted, they failed to 'roll-back' the frontiers of Communism thanks to the Chinese, but they did succeed in 'containing' Communism in the North...
