Why no one is prejudiced against Odo in last two seasons ?

Can

In last two seasons during war , Dominion led by shapeshifters practicly screwed up whole quadrant but after DS9 was taken back by Starfleet in Sacrifice of Angels , nobody held Odo responsible ( either justly or unjustly ) for what happened Dominion occupation or consequences of war afterwards. And on the contrary of Cardassian occupation Odo actually collaborated with Dominion to some degree , joined station's ruling council , left Rom to be caught etc. Even he didn't he is a changeling and his people were leading the war against Alpha Quadrant. There should be somekind of unjust prejudice against him. I would have loved a Bajoran or a Starfleet officer challanged Odo like "your orders don't count anymore changling There are no Jem Hadar here anymore. You can not play master...." and Odo surprised then guilt stricken...

That's one of the reasons I loved "A Man Alone" ( Season 1 episode 4 ) Odo was facing harsh and unjust judgement from others because he is different. But after his real people emerged and began a wholesale slaghter in S6 he seemed so accepted by everyone in DS9 and others in general...

I think you answered your own question in your own post.

If they were to explore what you described, it would be (rightfully so) seen as a re-hashing of "A Man Alone".

I guess it's a kind of enlightened form of prejudice. In "A Man Alone", people hate him because of something they believe he's done - the death of Ibu Dan, and that he's probably a Cardassian collaborator. The moment he's cleared, they all disappear... but it's not like he'd suddenly ceased to be a shapeshifter.

I think it's probably because Odo was doing his job, was a valuable asset and didn't go around provoking people. The moment Laas started doin that things got pretty ugly, as you may remember.

We did see some Klingons trying to provoke him in The Way of the Warrior. The regular population of DS9, however, knew he was a man of integrity. Even Quark apreciated it.

That, and the fact that he was chief of police for the recently-departed slave masters.

I always thought that DS9 dropped the ball on Odo staying chief of security. Not one Bajoran resents him? Not one Bajoran called him collaborator, or blamed him for doing a dirty job, or thought he could have done more to help the resistance?

They should have been screaming for his blood (metaphorically) every episode.

The Bajorans respected Odo as an impartial mediator who had solved their disputes for them.

One advantage DS9 has over certain "other" shows; characters on DS9 actually have some backstory and development.

What would be the profit in prosecuting Odo? He's a Founder that's sympathetic the the A quadrant's interests.

yeah, that's what we got told...

"Things Past" asks us to believe that *once* and only once, Odo sent some people to an execution that they might not have deserved. And that no one knew about it.

Even if they deserved it, how many Bajorans are going to say "Odo's great. He's really dealing justice for us. Those Bajoran resistance members really had it coming, and Odo made sure they got it!"

And in two (?) years of working security for the Cardassians, how many Bajorans would have been punished or executed as a result of his work? and *this* won him the respect of the Bajorans?

I think it's far more likely that real people would err the other way - that even if Odo did all he could to help the Bajorans, they'd scream for his execution anyway, just for working with the Cardassians. (like the Bajoran gov't official who returned to Bajor to face trial for collaborating - no one wanted to hear his story of how much worse it would have been if he *hadn't* cooperated.) Mobs aren't usually interested in shades of grey.

I think Odo's prestige with the Bajorans would have made more sense if he had refused to work security for the Cardassians.
