Why do people have take sides between Jadzia and Ezri? Can't people just like both? I think they both have their flaws, but are also both likable for different reasons. I agree that Jadzia could sometimes be full of herself and Ezri could be neurotic and whiny, but unlike others, I find these qualities endearing.

I was not aware that Trek needed her permission to show what she had already been paid for.

This sums up my feelings.

Interesting. Now I'm wondering if Gates McFadden was paid for her clip in Shades of Gray. I'm thinking she might not have thought of it at the time, but who knows maybe she did get something.
