Why isn't Michael Dorn in this movie?

Bring Back Dorn! Bring Back Dorn!

I think 'bringbackworf.com' and 'bringbackdorn.com' domain names are available, if you are so keen on this idea.

On a side note, when I google(tm) "Bring Back Dorn", the one result that does come up is a website 'bringbackporn.com', which led me into a bit of a panic because I thought maybe internet porn had somehow been removed from existence.

Worf was an excellent character on TNG and DS9 with a rich, detailed history. In the movies, however, he was used more often as a failed attempt at comic relief. He had a couple of good lines but he (and Data, another deep character) was often used poorly in the films. I didn't much care for scenes such as the one in which he gets promoted at sea in GEN, specifically when he falls into the water and is made to look the fool. Also, he didn't seem to be too affected by the appearance of the Duras sisters, the conspirators who tried to kill him and Picard, and daughters of his father's framer and murderer. His placement in the battle against the Borg at the beginning of FC was kind of thin and his line, "Assimilate this!" was too over the top for me. I hated "I am feeling aggressive tendencies!" and "It is a gorch," from INS. And, Logan actually cut the best scenes for Worf in NEM.

Still, Dorn was fine as Gen. Worf in STVI and would be welcome in STXI if utilized properly.

Nah, that was a website that wanted porn in Abrams new Trek movie, and feels canon COMPLETELY ignores the XXX classic Sex Trek.

Perhaps we can combine efforts and see if Dorn would be willing to do a nude scene in Trek XI?

I hope not.

Looking at that picture now, with his face turned away from the camera, I bet that's not Dorn although it is Worf.

I am glad you are on my side, Starship Polaris. I know you carry a lot of weight in the Trek fan community and can possibly get things happening. I think the writer's strike may be the only remaining barrier stopping Dorn's inclusion in the movie.

That is amazing. I almost cried with happiness. I wish we could have images in our signatures here.

See, I really liked that because for me, Worf is actually more of a self important, blustering buffoon who spouts the same diatribe over about five and a half seasons of TNG and about four of DS9.

WE GET IT.....SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY!!!!!

I was a HUGE fan of DS9 when it started and greatly resented TPTB bringing Worf in to "fix" the show. And what did we get? A virtual rehash of his whole "Do I stay with the Feds or go back to the Empire?" storyline. It was boring in 1990 and it was doubly maddening in 1996.

For me, throwing Worf in the ocean and treating him like a dick was EXACTLY how I wanted him to be shown.

Oh and as for Data, how can you say he was poorly used?!? The films basically became the Data/Picard show. If anything he was used TOO MUCH. I would buy "They underused Geordi or Beverly" but if you insist on saying they didn't make use of Data, I cannot take your argument seriously.

Maybe it's time for Dorn to have a non-Klingon role. Maybe he can play a certain character's father in this movie -- Bob Uhura. :)
