Why is Janeway Holding Chakotay's Hand?

I watched Future's End Part I & II on Spike yesterday. I noticed that when Chakotay and Janeway are walking down the boardwalk they are arm in arm and Janeway is holding his hand. Isn't that a little too touchy for a Captain and her First Officer?

I know that they "hooked up" in the Second Season episode Resolutions, but they broke up that episode too! I know the two are still close friends, but so were Kira and Sisko and I don't remember them holding hands!

I would think because they're trying to blend in as a couple strolling down the boardwalk. Though the real world explaination is that it probably helps them to fit into the frame better.

She sure is holding a tricorder. I didn't notice it at first. But from the first picture it still looks like she could also be holding his hand with her right hand (look at how her hand is bent inwards).

I noticed that too, but I think it's one of her own fingers.

She is not holding Chakotay's hand at all....in the first pick. Her fingers is just touching her other hand with the tricorder. Chakotay's hand is just hanging behind Janeway's back (as he was walking right next to her almost touching) or his hand would be on her back lightly.

Y'all are all right- they aren't holding hands. I still had Future's End stored on my TiVo so I watched the scene again a million times. They were just watching close together to try to hide the fact that she was scanning the area with her tricorder.

But Chakotay did seem to be taking advantage of the situation by resting his hand on her back. I think he still has a crush on her. I'd rather see those two together than Chakotay and Seven!

i've always assumed that janeway was holding chakotay's hand all the time. only when we weren't looking

He's trying to help her camoflage the tricorder. Their just "really close" in this ep. I love it though. He's holding her arm slightly instead of her hand. It's kinda cute though.

Thoughts on Picture 1:

Does Chak's jacket have an "interior" pocket on its right side? I don't see a placket or opening, just a pocket outline--with something at the bottom of the pocket.

Even the shirt looks great on Chak--nice color especially next to Janeway's cream suit.


General Thoughts:

I think the two look absolutely terrific in this scene. He looks just great (*sigh*) and she looks wonderful. Their clothes are smashing. I'm not sure which I like more...her hair or her outfit.

Damn! Chak looked fine in this scene!

I know Chak was trying to help hide Janeway's use of the tricorder, but boy did he stay glued to her side--except when that skater pushed them apart.

Regarding that, great comment about the skater's legs being similar to Janeway's. Guess he'd've known.

Never noticed their ears until I noticed Janeway was wearing earrings.

I wouldn't be surprised if the cast was asked to wear their actual "street clothes" for the filming of these eps.

Mulgrew, Beltran & Russ all wear those same types of styles of camera too.
