Why I'm leaning towards Old Nu Kirk & Spock rathr than Prime for WS&LN

There is a sci-fi way to get he Nexus into the New Universe but there is no time there - Kirk should not age in a place where time does not exist.

Now Kirk could have been living in the JJVerse for 22 years before discovery - or Spock Prime could use the Nexus asa gateway to get home

BUT what if Shatner does play an older time travelling nuKirk?? Here's the opportunity:

It could be William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy as Kirk and Spock on the bridge of the Enterprise in a new Starfleet uniform years on from ST16. Who said they ever left Starfleet? People could be worried that Bill could play jerk Kirk but in half a century the guy could mellow into a very decent officer. He could play the part as he always did.

I'll say it again: William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy as Kirk and Spock on the bridge of the Enterprise in a new Starfleet uniform years on from ST16.

Sounds like a fitting 50th Anniversary gift to me!

Future pine and quinto is the most plausible and my worst fear, lol

Re: Why I'm leaning towards Old Nu Kirk & Spock rathr than Prime for W

I prefer old Kirk Prime played by Chris Pine with makeup and young Kirk Prime played by CGI Shatner.

Re: Why I'm leaning towards Old Nu Kirk & Spock rathr than Prime for W

Kirk: The Nexus... I hope the others find a safer way.
Spock:
Sulu will look after them.
Kirk
: I don't suppose we'll ever see them again.
Spock
: We may yet, Jim. We may.
Kirk
: Spock... I'm glad you're with me.

(FADE OUT as Spock sings "The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins")

How about just letting the current cast be in their own adventure, without having anybody from the original cast getting involved at all?

Re: Why I'm leaning towards Old Nu Kirk & Spock rathr than Prime for W

^ Why? While not required in the next movie, the presence of previous actors would certainly not harm the production, and likely would enhance it for many Trek fans.

At the same time would go un-noticed by the non-fan general audience, they would just be characters.

Win - win.

That's fine by me

I say we throw everyone off guard. Have the special guest star be someone like an old T'Pol or a spirit vision of Chakotay. Or heck, let's just get Patrick Stewart in to play somebody or another.

That sounds terribly convoluted OP.

It would be cool if Shatner played old Kirk from the Mirror Universe, who was transported into the past of an alternate dimension by his own Tantalus field device, and marooned there for 50 years.

Upon being rescued by the Enterprise crew from Tantalus IV, bitter old Mirror-Kirk would then learn that his old nemesis Spock had also ended up in this universe as well, and would go about plotting his revenge. ...

I hope Shatner grows a twirly mustache

He could tie nu-Uhura to a set of railroad tracks.

This gets my vote.

Meh, I think Jolene Blalock is too young.

Or Star Trek: Time Bandits.

Re: Why I'm leaning towards Old Nu Kirk & Spock rathr than Prime for W

Spock was good in 11, but anything beyond that is unecessarry.
