Why do people continue to insist Star Wars ships are faster??

The new ones are.

Indeed... but the ridiculous power figures as quoted in some previous ones and by certain fans (which are NOT reflected on screen btw) are not.

I'm not familiar with the new books, but judging from what I've seen of Star Wars in the Disney movies... the Empire ships still seem weak/slow in comparison to Federation Trek ships.
