There's no question that there are many liberals and Democrats that are pretty ridiculous.
BUT
The party establishment doesn't hold itself up as "the moral majority". The party isn't OPENLY AND PROUDLY anti-intellectual, anti-education, anti-science, and anti-journalism.
When a party openly derides the institutions that we rely on for fact and understanding in our society, it will find that it's members sometimes come out looking a little sillier than members of a party who defer to those institutions in their areas of expertise. Throw in the hypocracy which accompanies politicians claiming to have the moral high ground and then showing the same moral failings as everyone else, and the comedy writes itself.
But beyond that, isn't biting comedy kind of a game of the young? And the young are more likely to be liberal. Seems to me that plays a larger role in what is essentially a business decusion by the networks regarding which content to produce.
I like Dara. But he's absolutely wrong that people don't wait a long time to deal with health issues.
I've had patients show up weeks after they went blind in an eye. You feel terrible bacuse it's something that could have been treated much better if we'd gotten to it earlier.
So, yes it makes for a good comedy routine. But it's important to get even that basic info out there, and if even one person takes it to heart that otherwise wouldn't have? Then it was well worth doing.
