Why didn't we design shuttles to use nukereactor

I say fuck to wacky enviromentalist we need a nuke ship in space.

simple. Nuclear power is not a current technology.

WE CAN do it, but not safely, smartly, or in a way that would be meaningful or practical for the space shuttle.
