Why didn't they...

dub

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Why didn't they do an episode that's sort of the reverse of Yesterday's Enterprise where something effects the timeline and they are suddenly in the AQ (or a version of the AQ) that's closer to what it would have been if they never left. Then it's clear they have to make things right in order to push themselves back in to the DQ. They all realize at some point that their "proper present" is in the DQ, so they have to do whatever they need to do to fix things (reluctantly and then only at the insistence of Janeway of course) and then they are all back where they left off. Seems like that would have been cool. Could have included some cameos from TNG or DS9 cast. Perhaps in this alternate universe, Yar is still alive too (KIDDING)!

Yeah, but I don't think they did one for the whole crew (from what I can recall)? Anyway, I think it would have been cool.

They didn't do it because they didn't do it. Not sure what kind of answer you're looking for.

What would convince them that this new timeline isn't better than the old one where they're stranded on the other side of the galaxy?

Perhaps the Kazon end up being even worse than the Dominion after they've assimilated* the Caretaker's technology.

(*Whatever the non-Borg equivalent of assimilation is.)

In the parallel universe where I live, they did do it

But it was shit

I don't think that they would've been too concerned about the Kazon. They were little better than Pakleds.

The Palkled's stole advanced technology that put them in a place to steal more advanced technology that p... That makes them the opposite of idiots?

Janeway stole technology in Prime Factors... Tuvok stole Technology in Prime factors and Janeway grumbled about it without actually considering that doing the right thing (giving it back and apologising) was in her cards.

Janeway stole a Borg transwarp coil that damaged the hull quite bad... Or was that that slipstream shit?

Not looking for an answer. The question is rhetorical. Just think it would have been cool. Thought I'd share. Nothing earth-shattering.

Ah, well for Earth-shattering...

Species 8472 have succeeded in eradicating the Borg and have moved on to the rest of the galaxy, Earth is lost, having been destroyed by group of bioships and the Federation, along with all the other civilizations of the rest of the Alpha, Beta, Gamma & Delta quadrants are on their last legs.

If only Voyager had allied with the Borg and modified those nanoprobes, the entire galaxy could have been saved before the purging of all life had even begun...

They did it for Kim twice.

Non Sequitor as mentioned, and Timeless.

In Non Sequitur, Kim was never gone and that's why I didn't mention timeless which is a different story.

In Non sequitur, Kim has everything he wanted, the girl of his dreams, a good job where he's not on the brink of death every other week. And yet he's not happy.

Seriously, what's wrong with this guy?

Timeless at least makes some sense.

The Packleds are the most inept concept ever concocted by the writers of TNG, IE People that are too stupid to form sentences and yet keep stealing technology from people intellectually superior.

What the... <you know what>?

Why on Io would you steal technology from your intellectual inferiors?

That's a satellite of Jupiter right? Anyway, the point is that they are idiots, they're unlikely to steal technology from a five year old, let alone from adults supposedly intelligent.

This story is as stupid as the idea of a gang of two year old who would roam the streets, beating up spitting images of Schwarzenegger to steal their valuables.
