I mean in other series they killed Jadiza Dax, Task Yar, and finally Tucker in Enterprise.
I would say the same about KesWell to be fair Tasha Yar was not a well acted or executed character.. she needed to go.
In my opinion the first season of TNG on the whole was cringe worthyYou know I thought the acting in general for Next Generation first season was awful. For Tasha to stand out as extra cringe worthy says a lot. Just my opinion, but I didn't personally feel that with any of Voyager's actors.
Well, they did assassinate her character in "Fury." Close enough?
True, didn't think about that.
Still, the character Tasha didn't become "corrupted" by that retcon like the Kes character did, she merely met a very bad fate (if I were given the choice of either becoming a sex slave or death on the spot, I might have chosen the first as well, even though it isn't consistent with her heroic choice earlier. Come to think of it, it isn't particularly consistent with the events of Tash' own earlier life... didn't she grow up on a planet with rape gangs, so that she'd probably rather would have chosen death? )
Blackmail, bondage and sexual assaulta Romulan General became enamored with her and offered her to spare the other survivors in exchange for being his consort.

I just watched that episode. Very odd. Where did this idea come from that Voyager's crew "abandoned" Kes? As I recall, when Kes leaves it's her decision. She then shows up in a small ship a few years later, beams over to Voyager, goes on a rampage, etc, etc. No explanation at all of how and why Kes changed and decided to take revenge on Voyager.Well, they did assassinate her character in "Fury." Close enough?
