Why did SNW alter the Enterprise bridge?

Floor carpeting also cuts down on ambient noise on a sound stage. If the floors have a gloss polish, you can hear a mouse fart register on a track. Must be a bitch to do post-mixing for shows like that.

The set designers in 1966 had better sense than those with far larger budgets 50-some years later. Shiny and metallic isn't always a good look in a workplace.

That would have happened in Phase II in the Seventies. And each deck would have had orange and brown walls in at least one room.

This is a visuals argument. It simply is a matter of how one takes continuity and that is different for everyone.

I guess I'm a bit more of a literalist than most. I mean, if the corridor suddenly vanishes in between DSC and SNW, I'd hope for an explanation. How can they just pretend it was never there? Was it ever there?

Yes, it was. And now it isn't. I've been helping with construction on my house and things change pretty rapidly.
