Why did SNW alter the Enterprise bridge?

I will say this. It's only a visit by Anson Mount to a replica of the TOS Bridge set but he looks damn cool sitting in the original production run design.

He visited the set in Ticonderoga NY?

Oh. Thought maybe there was some sort of museum. Years ago, there was a museum on Hollywood Blvd, that had some ST sets on exhibit. I'm not sure, but I think some might have been actual production sets.

Fascinating. And it's less than two miles from the nearest Amtrak station. Too far to walk for a day-trip, and the nearest hotel is too far to walk with luggage. So I'd probably need a cab. But definitely something to think about, the next time I take a vacation in the Northeast.

Its in the Lake George region. Make it a vacation

I don't (with the exceptions of Colonial Williamsburg and Walt Disney World) do "resort vacations" (and CW and WDW are hardly conventional resorts.) And even when I go to WDW or CW, I don't do single-destination vacations. I like my vacations complicated. My last trip to Hawaii was four islands in two weeks, including visits to 2 zoos, 2 aquariums, 2 agricultural exhibits, 2 excursion trains, a tour of the beautiful underwater scenery off Lahaina, in the comfort of a nice, air-conditioned submarine, and at least a dozen museums, ranging in size from multi-building complexes down to an unattended exhibit hall in a shopping mall.

I'd be there before thou can say Ticonderoga, if thou can say Ticonderoga. Also if I was anywhere near Ticonderoga.

There is a taxi I use when I am in Ticonderoga

And if we had some gin, we could make gin-and-tonic. If we had some tonic.
(or Jynnan tonnyx. Or gee'N'N-T'N-ix, chinanto/mnigs, tzjin-anthony-ks, or jinond-o-nicks)

If ST staff member Peter Lauritson, composer Morten Lauridsen, and classical disc jockey Brian Lauritzen were ever to occupy the same room at the same time, would the universe wink out of existence, and immediately be replaced by something even more bizarre?

FWIW I did like the corridor, although it did seem a but pointless cos they never showed it doing anything but going in a semicircle around the bridge. The Kelvin's led to more lifts, the Kelvinprise's led to the atrium and transporter room. But this one... just a lil' semicircle.

I wonder if the new set has a physical front? The Disco S2 version's entire viewscreen was CG.

If They hadn't made it so huge, it would have been a lot more believable as an access corridor for the bridge consoles.

Yeah, more than a few things about the DSC Enterprise bridge design were overkill and the walkway was one of them. That and the almost mirror-like shine of the deck plating.
