Yeah that last pic looks too floppy. Only time shats had hair like that was after a season 3 fight scene

Never mind the way his hair is parted, why doesn't Pine have the pointed sideburns? That's an egregious violation of canon, IMO.

yeh in both movies its abit of a half assed attempt at pointed sideburns.. almost like being afraid to commit! unless they are saving the full on shatner style pointed SB for Trek3 - and the prev 2 movies of 'barely there' SB pointedness were merely a foreshadowing of whats to come (which perhaps will also be true of hair parting) thereby something of a metaphor on kirk himself - he dosnt 'become' the Captain Kirk of TOS until ST3 (similar to the way he didnt get his gold shirt until the end of ST09)

Define "wrong." It's not like a haircut is a genetically determined trait. Kirk himself changed toupees, err, hairstyles between seasons 2 and 3 and then in the movies.
