Why are people spazzing?

Oh, I just KNOW it'll be delayed!

Oh, this guy just HAS to be Captain!

Oh, it'll be a pitiful if they don't mention NX-01!

T'Pol just HAS to be in this movie!

Oh, No! They might fuck up an nanogram of canon!

If such-n-such is in it, I'm gonna boycott!

Why are people going nuts over this? It's gonna be a movie. Some of us will like it, some of us won't. There will be cool new stuff, and some shards of canon will be swept under the couch.

Come on, guys. You're going to give yourselves a heart attack over entertainment.

Remeber entertainment? That thing that's supposed to be fun?

Lets not make mountains out of molehills.

Bones1864 probably accounts for 90% of the "spazzing" you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure he's just trying to be funny.

^trying to no avail.

Oh and if Porthos doesn't get a cameo I will so storm out of the theatre, shaking my head and swearing at the screen.

Why are we spazzing? We're Trekkies! That's what we do... it's what we live for!

When's the last time we had hope for the future of Trek? Hope breeds anticipation, anticipation breeds conjecture... and conjecture breeds speculation and argument and... spazzing out!

I wasn't spazzing till you reminded me that T'Pol won't be in this movie. Now I'm angry. Can't they see how PERFECT she'd be as Spock's great-grandma?

Spazzing is FUN! It's what we DO between Trek attempts. Some have rocked, more have sucked. But we're still here. Let's just title the film: Star Trek: SPAZ! ;)

:guffaw: :guffaw:

And Yes Porthos must be in it!

^
Actually, at present, the vote reads:

Yes: 5 (71%)
No: 2 (29%)

I'm afraid you don't have unanimous. You don't even have nine out of ten.

In any event, everyone knows this is the best title:

Star Trek: When Kirk Met Spock Met Leonard Nimoy And Also McCoy Too And Nero Was Uncool And Shatner's Not In It: THE MOVIE!

Anyway, we're complaining because it's fun. Being a fan of something means hating anything new. :)

Why are people spazzing?

Because the internet has given the idiots of the world a voice. If Star Trek taught me one thing it is to be optimistic about the future.

The way people whine and complain is fucking ludicrous, given that they know pretty much nothing at this point.
The default position of "well, that will be shit as it isnt exactly what I envisioned in my head", is a mystery to me. A total mystery.

The single minded arrogance of a small number of vocal "fans" (although admittedly, it aint too bad round these parts) astounds me at times. That it is "their way or the highway".

Every single time a new Star Trek is concieved my intial thought is always, is always

" New Star Trek. Cool. "

Tear it apart down the road if you must. But not before you've seen the fucking thing.

Could be idiots, could be PR sock puppets. These BBS sites are like that. I find sock puppets much more annoying than idiots though. *shrug*

I'd like to toss a big "Amen" your way, Jon1701!

This is the internet. This is a Star Trek forum on the internet. What else would you expect? :p

Actually, for this particular section of the forum, the extreme spazzing is coming from the same people over and over again.

A plastic surgeon would find that remark offensive. :)

I'm just happy that we're getting new Trek. I'm reserving judgement as to its merits until I've actually seen it.

Why, thank you sir.

Got me. Those who do spaz out make the rest of us look like the pocket-protector-wearing, living-in-their-mother's-basement geeks that the general public wrongly sees us all as.
