^And if you haven't read Teen Titans, then you have no idea why he took the name. The series has been collected in trade - read the first one at least.

I have read the first one--which didn't inspire me especially to read the later ones--and I still didn't like the name change. I understand why Bart no longer wanted to called Impulse, but changing to "Kid Flash" was wrong for him. Bart idolized Barry Allen, not Wally, so trying to "be like Wally" to show everyone he was serious didn't make sense.
Two notes on this one:
1) I didn't find the Teen Titans trade bad, simply uninteresting. Geoff Johns's writing evokes a time before I got into comics, and so his attempt to provide a silver age gloss over most everything provides me with no emotional attachment to his work.
2) I realize that it's possible there is an excellent explanation given past the first trade in Teen Titans for the name change other than simple approval. If there is, could I get the Cole's Notes version?
Cassandra Cain aka Batgirl is my favorite after Batman. I'm so glad they got her back on track. For a while I was like "What have they done?!" I dig her current initiative in "Outsiders" (though I'm a couple months behind). I enjoyed the contrast between her lethal fighting side and bits and pieces of a girl inside that still needed to grow up. Great story fodder which I'm sorry they didn't take more advantage of during her book's initial run.
