Who was your favorite engineer?

The linked version I made didn't transfer to the poll but for those who need refreshing:
Zefram Cochrane (Star Trek: First Contact and TOS)
Lily Sloane (Star Trek: First Contact)
Charles Tucker III (ENT)
Kelby (ENT: "Affliction", "Divergence", "Bound")
Montgomery Scott (TOS)
Montgomery Scott (NuTrek)
Miles O'Brien (TNG and DS9)
Geordi La Forge (TNG)
Reginald Barclay (TNG and VOY)
Sonya Gomez (TNG: "Q Who", "Samaritan Snare")
Sarah MacDougal (TNG: "The Naked Now", "Galaxy's Child")
Argyle (TNG: "Where No One Has Gone Before", "Datalore", "Galaxy's Child")
Nog (DS9)
Joe Carey (Voy)
B'Elanna Torres (Voy)
Vorik (Voy)
I took Logan (TNG: "The Arsenal of Freedom") out because he was more of an antagonist, I took Leah Brahms out because she was more of a scientist then an engineer, and Olson (NuTrek) was just a redshirt.

My top 3 choices are Geordi La Forge, Miles O'Brien, with Montgomery Scott (TOS) at the top. He was a miracle worker.

I like Geordi, but get the sense that he's perceived as a bit of a milquetoast by a lot of fans.

I did vote for him though, along with Scotty and O'Brien. (Colm Meaney was Doohan's real successor IMO in terms of style and bearing.)

^A couple of others share your view though I did pictured him having 100% of the votes, at least for a while.

I'm assuming Sarah MacDougal never going to live up to having Wesley take over the ship on her watch.

I spoke too soon about Sarah MacDougal. I can't see why someone would list her as a favorite but to each his own.

Favorite Engineering character? Scotty hands down, but I really liked Geordi's approach. He was no nonsense, good to his people, reported concise accurate information to the command group and came up with creative and innovative solutions.

That leaves Kelby and Argyle at 0. Bets on who will get a vote first? I say Kelby.

I don't know if he counts as an engineer, but what, no love for Kosinski?

(Just kidding, nobody loved Kosinski.)

On a side note, it's kind of odd that we never saw Lily do anything remotely engineering-related. Yes, we know who she was and the dialogue indicated that she did plenty, but it was all tell and not show (compared to Cochrane, who justifiably had a few scenes working with Starfleet personnel). Still, her practical attitude and Alfre Woodard's performance still earn her high marks, and I'd be happy to have her as part of my crew.
