Who's your favorite character on each of the Trek series, and why?

DS9: Jadzia Dax...Hot!
VOY: Seven Of Nine...Hot!
ENT: Hoshi Sato...Hot!

:D
You are thinking with the wrong head. :p

ENT: Another difficult one. I'll say Reed. I like his deadpan humour and that he had insecurity issues.
And he was so horribly posh. Proper little stereotype that has nothing at all to do with reality.... but then, come to think about it, he did come from a Royal Navy family and really was posh.

I would have liked a more typical Englishman though, dunno, some cockney football fan... someone who talks like people on the street do, watches matches at the pub and drinks beer. I'd even make do with someone who supports Chelsea. ;)

Or perhaps a northerner. Imagine someone from Liverpool in an American tv show. It would have been great.

But they just had to go with the stereotype.

Still, he did a great job and I like the character.
I see your point about your stereotyping and I would have loved to see a Northerner, too. A "commander Gene Hunt", for example. :D

TOS: Spock. Or Kirk. Or Scotty. I can't really decide.
TNG: Picard. Just awesome, and good diplomat-with-gun combination. I also liked Maxwell and Jellico, but these are not regulars.
DS9: Pretty much everyone except pre-War Sisko. But Garak tops.
VOY: Doctor. Just funny. Coffe Captain Janeway too.

This should be in general trek discussion, but what the hell, I'll give a whirl.

TOS: Spock. I like my men deep and complex and conflicted, not pretty-boy skirt chasers like Kirk.
TNG: Data was always my fave. Something so sweet about him, almost childlike.
DS9: Um, everyone except Ezri? LOL. Okay, if you really want to make me choose ... Kira. She's my HERO!
VOY: Janeway. Despite wildly inconsistent writing, I really like what Mulgrew brought to the character.
ENT: Didn't really watch, but I have a feeling it would've been T'Pol.

TOS: Kirk (die-hard captain)
TAS: Lt. M'Ress ( Caitian lion race female crew member)
TNG: Data (android)
DS9: O'Brien (resident Scotty)
VOY: Chakotay ( die-hard commander )
ENT: T'Pol (hot vulcan)

Star Trek (Series): Probably McCoy. Really loved the humor he brought to the series and he played off Kirk and Spock really really well.

Star Trek (Film): Kirk

Kirk really was the most improved character in the movie franchise for Star Trek. He developed so much and Shatner just seemed a lot more comfortable in the movies than he did in the series.

TNG: Picard

Stewart is probably the best regular Actor the franchise has ever seen.

DS9: Kira

Finally, Star Trek had a strong willed female character who wasn't there because of Sex appeal. Loved Kira's development throughout the series, and while I loved the cast, Kira just stood taller than everyone else. Also, Visitor played the part really really well.

VOY: Kes

Yeah, I'm in a minority, but I loved Kes. From the first season where she was helping the Doctor see past his programming, to the end with that utterly cool hairstyle that I wish we had more episodes with, Kes was just a really awesome, innocent character.

ENT: Trip

Not much of a reason, other than trip being the Kirk/Riker type character. I guess I could have said T'Pol too, but that was mostly after Season 3 and 4.

Star Trek (New Film): I know it's only one movie, but Uhura

Really liked what Zaldana brought to the role, and the relationship with Spock could work.

TOS: Spock, can't ever go wrong with him. And the Amok Time is one of the best episodes. Plus who could forget . . . "Jim. Your name is . . . Jim.

TNG: Data, always loved him. He always was so innocent to what was going on around him. Very childlike. And Spiner's performance was always perfect for it. I still bawl my eyes out when B4 starts to sing Blue Skies at the end of Nemesis, my first thought was "HE'S ALIVE!!!!!!!"

DS9: Hmmmm . . . This one is tough. I was never a huge fan . . . But the only reason why I watched it was for both Jadzia and Kira. I remember refusing to watch the last season after Jadzia died. Couldn't bring myself to do it no matter how much I loved Kira. But I did also come to love Odo.

VOY: I really want to ignore this one . . . So hard to choose . . . Everyone that isn't Seven or Harry or Chakotay when he sits there and does nothing. And why . . . Because they aren't Seven, Harry, or Chakotay doing nothing.

ENT: T'Pol, she was always a very interesting Vulcan. And now that I know that she was supposed to be half-Romulan I understand it more.

TOS: Spock, although I wasn't a massive fan of TOS, probably my least favourite of the series. Actually, scrap that. I never got into Enterprise.
TNG: Data. He was a robot, and to a 9 year old, that's incredibly cool. Honorable mentions for Riker and Picard though. TNG probably had the best cast overall, though I might be biased as TNG is undoubtedly my favourite of all the series.
DS9: I'm gonna cheat a bit here...Worf ;)
VOY: This is another toughie, I'm stuck between the Doctor and Lit. Paris.
ENT: Never really watched ENT.

TOS: Kirk. He's fun, adventurous, and when I was a kid, I wanted to be just like him.

TNG: Riker. For many of the same reasons as Kirk. I also enjoyed his ambition, loyalty and relationship with Troy.

DS9: Kira. She was a strong, conflicted character that I really saw grow throughout the series.

VOY: Seven. I liked the arc of her character, and her addition really helped the series. It was interesting finding out new things about the Borg through her.

ENT: Trip. He's possibly the character I related to the most from the ones on this list.

TOS: Spock. Nimoy played the part brilliantly, and made the character so deep and charismatic, complex and conflicted... and so sexy
TNG: either Picard - because of Stewart's performance and the depth and gravitas he gave the captain, and because he was the focus of many of the show's best episodes - or Data, childlike and lovable outsider character
DS9: Kira - tough, feisty and vulnerable, strong willed and principled but flawed and with a dark past; had a great character development and an amazing arc, and Nana Visitor played her so wonderfully and carried the big emotional moments. She's a character I relate to a lot. Second favorite is Odo, but there are lots of great characters in DS9 (other favorites include Garak, Quark, Dukat, Sisko...)
VOY: EMH - the most developed and interesting character on the show. I also liked Tuvok when he would get the spotlight, but that wasn't often.
ENT: T'Pol - I related to her and found her quite interesting as a conflicted Vulcan with a cold exterior and emotional and rebellious core.

DS9: ARgh. Kira - Odo - Garak! How can I choose just one? This is as bad as the Janeway vs. Ripley poll.

Janeway vs. Ripley?!?! :cardie:

-explodes a million times over-

The little bits of me that are left would have to say:

TOS: I never really watched (yep, go ahead and judge!) but I'll go with McCoy because he's funny

TNG: Beverly Crusher. Smart, gentle, but with a temper like the devil himself. She's perfect!

DS9: Kira. So damn gorgeous and tough.

VOY: Janeway, no question about it. Though Tuvok is second, with B'Elanna coming in third.

ENT: I honestly never watched it... but I do like the guy with the southern accent. Trip, is it?
