Who's Going To Creation's Las Vegas Convention?

Just a note that I didnt see posted yet (please forgive if this is a repeat). But for anyone not staying at the Hilton and will use the monorail, for the month of July, you can go online and purchase day passes for $9.00 instead of the normal $15.00. They also have 6 rides for $20.00. The passes are good for a year. I already purchased ours, even tho we are staying at the Hilton. I want to go to Margaritaville at the Flamingo and it is very easy via the monorail. The site is www.lvmonorail.com
Looking forward to meeting some great new friends!

Thanks Deb!!!
That helps. I really hope we can hook up.

Thank you for all the information! Just trying to plan out the budget with what extra spending money we might have.

How will we know each other? Can we tie yellow ribbons in our hair?
JK.
But really, do they give you name tags or some such nerdy thing?

Not sure really, but every other Con we've went to has the option at least for name tags. And us being such Handsome Klingons... we should stand out. ;)
Hmm... could wear the ruby slipper Klingon boots......:klingon:

Actually, the pic that was posted earlier is us. We have done some minor improvements, but should help in recognition.

Just a question... we know your hubby will be dressed as Archer... and you are a 6 foot redhead... but what will you be dressed as?
At ConVergence we saw a redhead who was normally over 6 foot, and she wore Goth Lift Boots that brought her close to 7!

At past Vegas Cons, the Trektoday BBSers wore red shirts on specific days. In the "meet-up" forum there's a thread with a lot of these old-timers called "Too early for a Vircon Vega$ thread?" The thread contains an explanation of "Vircon".

A question... does anyone know what the general price of the buffet in the Hotel is?
I live in Vegas and the Hilton's Buffet is, to put it bluntly, dogshit.

For about the same price, you can eat at Quark's and their food is good.

To be quite honest I kind of vowed not to go to another convention again after 2006 because although I love Star Trek, to be honest, I can't stand Star Trek fans.

Well, I should rephrase that: 10% of the fans, the absolutely obnoxious ones, the ones Shatner told to get a life in that infamous SNL sketch, ruin it for the rest of us. Those are the ones I can't stand and those are the ones that make me not want to go. My father in law got me a weekend gold pass for Christmas so I will be attending this year.

Just a reminder: if you haven't already heard, Star Trek: The Experience is closing it's doors for good as of September 1, so this is obviously your last chance to enjoy it. Here's a couple of tips: If you can find a Nevada resident to go up and buy the tickets with you, you save like 25%. You might be able to just tell them you're a local like I did last month. They didn't make me prove it. They probably assume that if you know about the locals discounts in Vegas , you're probably a local. Also for an extra $40, you get a backstage tour of the place. And one more thing: Look on craigslist and you'll find people selling the tickets cheap.

Just curious... what's with all the sombreros?

Good question. I have no clue. So if anyone knows the answer, I have another question...

Since I'm not staying at the Hilton, how's the parking around there?
This is Las Vegas, my dear, we don't park anywhere.

Use the Hilton's Valet parking, it's free and it's the best way to run into Star Trek stars (speaking from experience, here.). Just tip the valet guy. I always tip $3 - $5 depending on how classy the place is. The Hilton's worth about $4. It's well worth it. Your cars protected, it's not going to be nearly as hot when you get into it because it'll be shaded and the valet guys will have the A/C on.

Hey! Thank you! Hope to see you there.

I'll be looking for the 6 foot Redhead with Captain Archer.

Now could someone please tell me what's up with the sombreros? :scream:

:wtf:

;)
