I'm going with Gergiou. I'm sure they want to redeem and soft the character just a bit more before she goes offinto her "Section 31" series - and Michelle Yeoh even stated the plan is:

    - Film ST: D S3 first.
    - Start filming on Section 31 almost immediately after that.

The above said, I HOPE Georgiou returns to the 23rd century prior to that and they don't do a new 'Section 31' offshoot in the 32nd century (Assuming that were the Discovery ended up. Burnham WAS targeting 930 years from circa 2257; so if the Jump worked ST: D S3 will start sometime circa 3187 <--- Which is beyond any time period mentioned in any Star trek show previously (I know ST: V mentioned the 29th century and in ENT Daniels was from the 31st century.

Wouldn't it be HILARIOUS if 'Future Guy' turned out to be MU Georgiou masking/modifying her image and voice...:rommie:

    Burnham.

Saru is going to step aside because he recognizes that Burnham is the most qualified in this new, unknown situation.

I hope its Saru. He's proven himself, again and again. The crew needs a top notch science officer out of Burnham. And I imagine that Phillipa ends up taking on the role of intelligence officer as she apparently is vital to season three. (I also hope Yeoh ends up with the "and" credit for next season that Isaacs and Mount have had previously.)

Saru is a steely eyed missile man now. I like Burnham way more now than I did before, as a character but she's really suited for a science role. I could see Reno and Stamets being a productive/combative pair keeping the ship running without a dry dock for repairs.

I don't know how they'll handle Georgiou. Somehow I suspect Pike left instructions on that. He knew very well who she really was (that wink at the end) .

I cant imagine Mirror-Georgiou in the Captains-Chair with a first Officer who would end up in her Soup at home
Unless they find a way to get Prime-Georgiou in the 32nd Century and the S31-SpinOff was a bluff.
Mirror-Georgiou becomes mortally ill , not long to live BLA BLA . She adapt the Suit, travels back in Time, and as a last Gift to Michael she replaced herself with Prime-Georgiou and sending her back to the future shortly before the deadly Fight with Burnham on the Klingon-Ship begins. Cryham-Moment perfect!

Like Spock, Burnham is more suited to be second in command. Interesting how that runs in the family.

Um - Georgiou IS in the 32 century (assuming the Time Jump worked); she is/was on the Discovery when it entered the Wormhole

Very likely going to be Michael. She's earned it. Saru is equally qualified but he isn't the lead. They've already had a bad habit of starting off the black leads as Commanders and making them wait for promotion and don't pull that crap with the white leads. Think they're going to or should make Michael wait longer then Sisko!?

I know some want Saru to get it but who will actually get it will be Michael. Best case is they get a second ship or two and we have multiple captains and a mini fleet.

True (which is hilarious if it is given all the angst about the Crystal being unable to power it after the one big jump - which wasn't the case anyway as Burham made 5 before opeing the Wormhole to 930 years in the future from the 23rd century :rommie:)

If you read the Hollywood Reporter interview with Kurtzman; the 'Section 31' series will be set in the 23rd century with Michelle Yeoh as Georgiou; so Georgiou's gotta get back somehow. ;)

Mirror Georgiou doesn't seem like she would want to be in command anymore. She likes the shadowy stuff now.

I feel like the wild card is whether the Federation still exists in 930 years and if so, does the DSC reach out to them. If so, I could see a scenario where the Fed “assigns” a captain and perhaps even more personnel because they don’t trust or don’t have faith in strangers from 930 years ago.

It should be Saru, but they'll probably find a way to make it a new character. Unless they go with Pirate rules and elect a captain....

I don't see a single person in the command structure of the ship more qualified than Saru, but I agree that they'll probably do something convoluted to put whoever they want for story reasons into the seat.

I'd be very disappointed if anyone on the bridge entertains The Emperor as a valid option for even a moment. Burnham has spent so much time going off on her own personal missions and acting as a specialist that we haven't seen her make command decisions or acting in that capacity since Battle of the Binary Stars. Even then, in retrospect that seems a lot like the Burnham we still see here; she hasn't grown in the ways she needs to in order to take command. She is very good in the first officer position, especially when it comes to Saru. They make a good team, I think.

As long as Saru doesn't continue believing that fisticuffs is an appropriate method of conflict resolution between Starfleet Officers, that is...

Voted for Tilly as a courtesy. Underdogs need some love. If it were up for a vote, I'd definitely vote for her.

But I'd like to see some sabre-rattling between Saru and Georgiou, probably with the latter trying to convince the crew that Starfleet regulations don't quite apply when you're 50 thousand lightyears and a thousand years away from any hopes of contacting a remotely familiar version of Starfleet and Saru wholly committed to upholding Federation ideals.

And to bring Tilly to the mix in a wholly non-serious way, I just remembered that scene from Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, with Jack and Barbossa shouting orders over each other until Pintel has enough of it and yells at them to shut up; responding to the surprised stares with awkwardly quipping he'd just like to throw in his name for consideration considering the position's still open... I can definitely see this happening with Tilly snapping at a Georgiou/Saru shouting match, but that's probably just my sense of humor

My vote is for Saru, with Burnham as 1st officer. Michael is more suited to going on away missions and floating between divisions problem solving. Saru has more than proven himself as a capable leader. His new found confidence will prevent him from his former navel-gazing/second guessing. He might butt heads with Georgiou because of this, which would be fun.
