That gives me an idea…Plus she could play the rest of the crew as well!![]()
Both Picard and Kirk were captains in their early-30's, so I'm not sure a first officer in their late-20's is out of line.
I still think it's a little too young, regardless of Trek's past.Harry Kim said in Nightingale that ifVoyager hadn't been stranded in the Delta Quadrant, he would have been a Lieutenant by Season 7, and maybe even a Lieutenant Commander. He would have been around 28 or 29 at that point in his career, so having a first officer in their late 20s, especially one that doesn't hold full Commander rank isn't outwith the bounds of possibility.

Kristen Ritter please, with James Van Der Beek as the Captain.
He's already got her for American Gods, and given he's said his series lead is a first officer and not a captain (and possibly a woman of colour), Anderson seems unlikely.I wonder if Fuller is thinking about banking Gillian Anderson as his series lead.
Parminder Nagra anyone?
Shohreh Aghdashloo as Number One, forget all about Alice Eve.
That is such a tired trope where in order to make a female character appear strong and capable, said female actress has to be seen as some ultra feminist that has a chip on her shoulder with every male character.
