Who would you like to see cast as 'Number One' in Discovery?

Trajet

Commander
Red Shirt
Any suggestions, no matter how wild or unlikely...

I'd like to see Tatiana Maslany in the role. She's a proven, critically acclaimed actress, she's around the age you'd expect a Lt. Commander to be (30/31), and she could potentially bring her existing fan base from Orphan Black with her.

And Orphan black is coming to an end, doesn't it? I think there could be a lot worse choices than her.

I'd throw Freema Agyeman into the pot. Beautiful, intelligent and a real SF pro. Plus, I'd say her role in Sense8 is small enough to allow for a second show.

And second: Archie Panjabi. Ok, she might be a bit older, but who cares, she's cool.

I wonder if Fuller is thinking about banking Gillian Anderson as his series lead.

I personally was thinking about Joan Allen (best known as Pamela Landy from the Bourne movies) would make a good female lead in a Starfleet uniform (but she is too old now with 60 years):

Also Fionnula Flanagan, when she was younger, would have the gravitas for a female Starfleet lead. She played Data's mother:

Based on the impression I got from what we know about the character, she's going to be in the ballpark of late 20's to early 30's which would rule out Gillian Anderson unfortunately. Karen Gillan on the other hand is 28 so that could work out.

Chyler Leigh from Supergirl reminds me strongly of Nana Visitor. I think she could pull off a good starfleet officer (or a rebooted Kira, for that matter).

I'm kinda hoping he'll reuse some of the actresses from Hannibal because I pretty much liked all of them.

Kacey Rohl is 25 so I guess that'd be okay. I think I'd really enjoy seeing more of her. Katharine Isabelle (who was pretty damn weird and scary yet vulnerable) and Lara Jean Chorostecki are both in their early 30s which would work, too. Caroline Dhavernas is a bit older but meh, I'm sure there's room for more than one actress, right? :p
Well, and of course Gina Torres was in it, too.
