Who would you have liked to have seen as a companion from any series of New Who?

For me Reinette from "The Girl In The Fireplace."

I think she would have made for an amazing companion to the Doctor.

Seconded!

Off the top of my head Sally Sparrow, Lynda, and O'Donnell and Bennett from earlier this year.

From Classic Who Richard Mace from The Visitation and maybe Duggan from City of Death, just to see him try and punch a Dalek out...

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, Craig.

Also Victorian Clara. Loved her. We already had seen Oswin. Did we really need a third Clara? She still could have been The Impossible Girl.

And Astrid.

Jackson Lake. I would have loved to see the Doctor and Jackson knock about the universe for a couple of episodes. And I wish RTD had written the Jackson Lake novel he mentioned once upon a time.

Lady Christina. I really think she needed to be in "The Waters of Mars."

And, like everyone else, Victorian Clara. I'd also take Dalek-Oswin. :)

I read a fanfic story a long time ago that did that, and then put her back at the end. It was quite moving, actually.

The funny thing about this is that, just a few days ago, I was thinking about possible companions for the eleventh Doctor in case Matt Smith wanted to do Big Finish, and I was thinking that a story where the eleventh Doctor picked up Reinette for a bunch of adventures could be a lot of fun. (I'm assuming that, for BF purposes, Karen, Arthur, and Jenna would either be too busy and/or out of their price range.)

It was a such a shame that she died. Especially since in the previous episode we lost Amy and Rory:(
Right after they escape from the house and she grabs the ladder, smiles, and says to the Ice Nanny Monster "I regret to inform you the position has been taken," or whatever, I was smitten. Head over heels from that moment. :adore: It only deepened when she excitedly looked around the TARDIS, ebullient at the prospect at traveling in space in this big ship.

Then when she fell and died, I literally said "No. They didn't. No..."

She would've been such an awesome, spunky companion. It's a shame they changed their minds about her.

Same. The way her eyes lit up upon entering the TARDIS, and then the Doctor gave her the key, and his eyes lit up as well. It was magic. She would have been... Fantastic!

Really? If they can afford Tennant, Tate and Kingston (not to mention John Hurt!), and could afford Smith, then the others would seem to be within their price range? I'm unsure how well paying a gig BF is for an actor? I guess the (potentially) lowish fee is offset by it being voiceover work that can be completed pretty quickly. I know from some of the extras on some of the Blakes 7 ones that they don't always have the full cast acting together in the studio, I was wondering if they even needed them in a studio? Could Karen, for example, just spend a couple of hours in her apartment with a laptop?

I definitely agree that Victorian Clara would have been great. Honestly, I almost wish we had gotten one or two more splinter Claras at some point before the Impossible Girl reveal. Oswin and Victorian Clara were two of my favorites, and they really showed off Jenna's acting talent.

Also, Rita. Rita was awesome. I hated that she died.

And you know what? Maybe not a full-time companion, but I'd love to see Craig and Stormaggedon actually have an adventure in the TARDIS instead of at the mall.

Brannigan's daughter from "Gridlock" after she's grown up. You know, the one who called Tennant's Doctor, "mama". ;)

Sincerely,

Bill

Since were listing possible companions, I'd have liked Dalek Oswin to have been his companion. It would be nice for the Doctor to have a Dalek companion.

I wanted that too.

My headcanon for the show made me think that Clara was still a Dalek after the two parter with Davros

Which classic series villains would you like to have seen in the TARDIS? How about Prof. Whitaker and Sir Charles from IOTD?
