and why

Yes, This has probably been done before.
I'm kind of new and didn't see it.:bolian:

Of course they have shields. What exactly do you think a "shield generator" does? Even though for whatever odd reason the generators apparently aren't shielded.

But yeah, Ent-D no question.

The D, I reckon. Star Wars weapons only seemed about as powerful as the NX-01.

That and Trek is better.

lol yeah - who's the dummy who placed the shield generator outside the shield grid?

Love that pic. Awesome.
Of course Enterprise would win. Why?
This is a Star Trek Forum. ;^)

And also, Enterprise has better maneuverability than the imperial star cruiser. At least I would think so any way.

Right, a shield generator hundreds of miles away on a planet...

The Death Star did have shields according to A New Hope, but it apparently only blocked big stuff, as the X-Wings were, as mentioned in the film, small enough to 'fly through them'. I suppose that means photon torpedoes could, too. It seems to me that Star Wars defenses were more of an active denial system - turrets shooting down incoming fire, as in Battlestar Galactica.

The Enterprise would win, not only because of its superior technology but because it has a miles better crew. The crews on star destroyers always looked stupid to me, with twittering nervous captains jus tryin to kiss vaders ass.
No Picard = no win

A Star Detroyer has 3 shield generators (for some reason). They're the two spheres at the back on top, and a bulge underneath. Which is silly. Did make for a good level on Rogue Squadron II though, where you destroy them, and the Star Destroyer gets pulled down onto a planet. Though that does raise the question of why it would be so near to a planet as to be so attracted to its gravity. And how it was even though it didn't look anywhere near enough.

In short, Star Trek's better.

Star Wars ships use lasers, and in "The Outrageous Okona", when some ships using lasers attacked the Enterprise, everyone on the bridge basically laughed in their faces, and they even dropped shields for fun (Apparntly, lasers can't even scratch the D's paint). Also, as mentioned before, Star Wars ships don't shield their shield generators.
They are huge, though. 15 km, IIRC. So even with shields down, it would take quite a few hits.

P.S.: YAY! I got promoted!

The Enterprise, only 'cause Star Wars ships apparently didn't have shields.

Star Wars ships have shields. Some of the Imperial fighter craft, such as their various TIE Fighter squadrons did not. With the exception being the TIE Defender and the TIE Advanced.

In Empire Strikes Back, when C-3PO tells Han they've lost the rear main deflector shield on the Millennium Falcon when leaving the asteroid field (and being pursued by a Star Destroyer) the admiral of that Star Destroyer ordered "shields up" whenever they noticed the Falcon going into attack position.

Unsure who would win against an all out battle, although I think a Super Star Destroyer (such as the Executor) would ravage a Federation starship.
